Heh. I'd have it on my FTP but I really don't feel like wasting that much bandwidth :) (Wasting in the _best_ kind of way :P) If you can't find it any more or just want it really slowly...email, PM, or IM me.

Another Mirror

If any of the previous hosts don't work, you guys can get it at my ftp (just I'm hosting it from my cable modem, so I'm capped to a total maximum upload of 50kb/s)

ip: 24.186.144.31
port: 21
username: FTPuser
pw: easy

if you can't connect, try turning PSAV or Passive FTP mode explicitly on or explicitly off - I have a shiezer router. Look in your FTP's help on how to do that (if you HAVE to use ie, go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > bottom of the Browsing category).

I have Tom's 40 meg WMA and Matt is uploading his 300-some meg mpg (should be done in about 3 hours).

About the entire legality thing, my point of view is that CBS is one of the major networks, so if you have TV, you probably get CBS. CBS may even be broadcast by antenna in some cities, so it would be completely free in those cases. The program itself isn't produced by some 3rd party (i.e. hollywood), it's produced by CBS. And no measures have been taken to hide that it's by CBS or hide that it's from 60 minutes. It's being used almost like a bibliography. Because of this, I feel strongly that by hosting a mirror, I'm doing nothing illegal - it's meant to be a service to those who happened to miss the clip. If other powers feel otherwise, then censor this message.

evulish 13-11-2002 22:58

Ooh. A 300 meg MPG? Would anyone like to up that to me? :) Message me somehow. I can allow HTTP/FTP uploads/downloads.

(WMV is a freaking pain in linux *sigh*)

My apologies for being off-topic, but http://www.pubarso.com/ is filled with hilarious comments. Its a good way to cool down from an average school day. Gotta keep that updated Brandon.

I love where the name "Pubarso" came from :D

(I always seem to help lead things incredibly off topic)

Soo...about that tv show...erm

PS... its 44 megs.... so watch out dialup users....

Hey, this is my first attempt at using the Record function as more than TIVO on my computer.

I've got the file, it's in MPG 2 file standard, and it's 3.6 gigs. (Yes, gigs)

How'd you get it down to 44 without the quality going to crap?

I tried Real video, but my video program only lets me export at 120x80. (Ususally i do 320x2someting at work)

I'm cranking it out in WMV now (Since it's already posted, i'm not bothering to share mine I'll see how that comes out for experimentation purposes.

Just so you know, i edited out all the commericals and left the opening peice in.

:-)

I was going to try DIVX, but that means I gotta find the installer again.. *sigh*

mpking 14-11-2002 08:43

Hmm... Just figured it out. I've got the freebie version of Ulead Video Studio 5.0

it's slightly..... limited. more features, upgrade to pro, or goto the new version 6.0.

Grrr..

Oh well, i guess it's time to take advantage of Adobe's Software at home liscense. (If you have a liscense to use something at work, you can take it home and use it. Seriously, it's on there web site somewhere, one of htere salesman told me) Premeire is still the best.

I just used the movie maker thats built into windows XP - nothing fancy - to get it smaller i cut down the resolution to 320x240 - and i cut down the audio quality - it comes out to be about 384 kbps.

If you want to use Divx... just get the codec at www.divx.com.

Then visit the Divx software page to download one of the encoding applications.
http://www.divx.com/software/browse.php?cid=14

You'll need either FlaskMPEG or XMPEG to encode it.

Dean's Team Number

Did anyone else notice Dean's team number in the baseball game? Well if you didn't it was e^(i*pi). For those of you who don't know that equals -1. Leave it to Dean to have that as a team number.
