A question

I have a friend I talk to on another message board who is very interested in FIRST but her company is not involved in it. She lives in central Massachuettes.
She would still like to join a team as a volunteer.
Is this at all possible?

I don't know where your friend is located, but we're in Worcester MA and we are always willing to have more helping hands... understanding of course that we're just a bunch of college kids doing this.. :P

I'll bring it up to her!
Thanks!

Direct her to FIRST's website.
http://www.usfirst.org/robotics/gtstart.htm

"So you are interested in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) and want to get involved, but aren't sure where to start or what to do? This page has been designed to help you make the right choice. "

Many of the engineers on team 84 don't have their company associated with our team. Actually...I think they are associated (after being confronted by our engineers, probably) but we're still taking engineers/mentors from anywhere. My dad works for the freaking FSA (Farm Service Agency...part of the USDA) and he is a mentor. The federal government doesn't exactly give us any money :D

Hi Colleen,

I'm the friend Koko Ed was referring to. :) I live in Ayer, which may be a bit far away, but wouldn't mind talking about meeting times and what you guys have need of. :) I'll PM you too, just in case you don't see this.
