NASA House Team Grant help
I'm a mentor with a second year team that's going for a new NASA house team grant opportunity in our area, and I've spent the better part of a month working on our grant writeup, but.. this is honestly the first grant I've ever written, and I would honestly feel a lot better about it if I could find some kind of examples of what other people have submitted in the past. I have zero idea the format people tend to use for this sort of thing or anything, and I'm really stressing that I'm going to let my kids down by submitting a hot mess. :/ We're a lower-ish income school, but with good community support and the kids have a ton of heart, so this has the potential to be a HUGE change for the team (think the money to build a workshop, get some better laptops, etc.) Does anyone have any suggestions, anything to point to that could help, useful example templates, anything?

I've applied for the grant before, when we were a 2nd year team. I just outlined that we were potentially losing a major sponsor (Boeing) and we got the grant. Not from a lower-income area by a long shot. So if you just outline the difficulty you have in meeting your financial obligations, and can show you are out of "major" sponsors, you've got a shot. |

Thanks for your feedback! :)
Interesting. Did you apply for the house grant specifically, or the rookie / second year / veteran team grant? Looking at our house team grant application, it looks fairly specific to our local NASA group. Do you mind if I ask about how long did your grant application come out (if you remember?) I'm trying to work out if I'm submitting too much, too little... |
Re: NASA House Team Grant help
It was the team sustainability grant, or something like that. It was specifically for teams who were 2nd year or older. And it was a one-time thing.
