That didn't seem right to me, either, but...TBA says they were on Einstein, they just didn't play in any matches... I think TBA has been wrong before though.

They have a dean's list winner from 2012, which since it's awarded at the Einstein level (vs at the division level), means Einstein shows up even though they didn't play on it.

It is always a pleasure to be on an alliance with 1939.

Many thanks! I think our team is in what I would describe as the robot version of the "friend zone." We aren't quite good enough to be a number one or two seed or the first pick of the one or two seed, but we are generally a little too good to be around for the second pick of one of the top alliances, so we usually end up in a five to seventh seeded alliance.

Our best shot was 2013 in GKC as the 2nd seed captain with 3928 and 1987 but alas, the Kraken (1986) and SWAT (1806) were too much for us to handle. Here's hoping our luck changes this year!

Got it. My original post has been edited. That could be clearer on TBA. Does Dean's List Finalist qualify a team for the Championship, or did they get there on a wildcard?

I believe the Engineering Inspiration award they won at the North Carolina Regional is what qualified them for champs. (The Dean's List finalist award alone does not qualify a team for champs.)

Thanks, hopefully this year is our year! I know I'm putting forth more than 100% effort this year, especially since I'm a senior.

3196's 2013 bot is also one of my favorite robots ever. Such a gorgeous climber.

Thank you so very much!! All of you are so kind!!!
Scorpion (Our 2013 bot) is unfortunately now gutted of all its electronics, but the mechanical part still holds. We keep it as a display robot at our school, but I hope we can get it fully functioning again one day!

Thanks! It means a lot. We came SOOOO close to winning at the 2012 Colorado Regional. We were literally as close to winning as you can get without actually winning.

Re: The Best Team(s) to Never Win an Official Event

The move from the Regional model to the District model, has allowed most of the top teams and many of the very good teams in PNW to win an event. It benefited my team two seasons ago as one of the very good (IMO) teams in PNW.

I would probably put 4450 ORF at the top of the list for PNW. They are a relatively new team and haven't made any finals. However, they have consistently been ranked high enough to be an alliance captains at every PNW District Event they've attended the past three seasons. They made all three PNW District Championships and World Championships three out of the four seasons that they have existed.

In the next group, there are several very good teams that have not won an event. There are too many to mention all of them. I would like to call out 1294 and 1778 which probably are the two teams that have the most finalist appearances with three apiece.

1671 is kind of an outlier here, as they've won (and earned) a world championship, but they have not won a regional.

3476 was an outlier for a while as well, before the OC regional this year they had two division wins at champs, but no official event wins.

I think both 3250 and 1671 will make it happy pretty soon.

Ditto. 3250 is on the verge of breaking through. 3859 is showing promise too.

Maybe 973 can win an event without sandbagging... ;^)

Ah, yes forgot about 1323. In 2016, their only losses in eliminations were in 2 Regional finals and the Division final to alliances that included 1678 (3) , 971 (1) and/or 254 (1). But remember that they were on the CVR winning alliance in 2015.

I totally second that about 2013 (although I guess I am a bit biased). And you guys should definitely win the best team mascot award. I can't get enough of your mascot/team bunny brand :D So freaking adorable/scary.
