Right Angle Gearbox

I'm currently trying to find a right angle gearbox (or a set of bevel gears) that fits a very specific set of requirements:
  • Can transmit .6 hp
  • Lightweight (<1lb)
  • Small profile (3"x3"x3")
  • Rated for 100 RPM input
  • 2:1 ratio with 50 RPM output

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

AndyMark's LJ Bevel Box seems to fit your bill pretty well: http://www.andymark.com/product-p/am-2622.htm

I can't speak for the power requirement, seems like everything else is right on the money.

Alternately, 33 Killer Bees posted a pretty neat Instructable earlier in the year on how they adapted a Versaplanetary and a Dewalt 90* drill attachment for a right angle transmission:

Is your intended motor rated in horsepower or something? If it's less than a single horse, I would've thought it'd be labeled in watts or newtons.

It's a 450 W motor... I've done so many calculations on this thing...

The LJ Bevel Box perfectly fits what I need! Just worried about the cost a little bit. I'll need 4 of them...

How much torque can a Dewalt Gearbox handle?

You can always just buy the bevel gears and make your own housing/plates.

And if you're using a versaplanetary, you can use one of their mounting brackets, a 1x2 tube, and a WCD bearing block and be in pretty good shape.
