FRC Central Beta for iOS

I am pleased to announce a public beta for FRC Central. FRC Central is an iOS application built to provide FRC event results in near real-time as well as a wealth of other features.

My son and I got involved with FRC about 3 years ago and there was no turning back. He's helped significantly with shaping the app, but it is time to get more feedback as I ramp up for a full release with the 2017 season.

Below I've highlighted just three of the many features in FRC Central:
News: This tab pulls in articles from the FRC Blog. You can be notified whenever a blog post is made - this makes it particularly easy to stay up to date on rules updates as they are posted to the blog.

Quickly Share Information: Many of the areas within FRC Central include a sharing button that allows you to quickly share match results, news, and other information quickly via email, Twitter, Facebook, and Messages.

Location Aware: If you let FRC Central know your location, it will quickly identify teams and events close to your location.
If you have an iOS device, we would love to have you as a beta tester! Below is the link to the brief signup form:

Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or suggestions. (I've never known this community to be shy!)

Oh my goodness! This app looks AMAZING! I've been looking for an alternative for FRC Spyder, and been holding my breath for the official Blue Alliance app, but this is what I want! Patiently waiting for my beta email!

Also, how often does that FRC Blog notification come out after the blog post? My CD blog posting may become more competitive.

I will be beta testing this as well. Very excited for this, I've wanted something other than FRC Spyder. Spyder is great and all, but there are so many more features which seem to be incorporated into FRC Central.

Glad you are excited. I am currently working on fixing bugs. It is nearly feature complete.

It currently checks for new blog posts every 15 minutes.

Great overall response. A big thanks to everyone who has joined. I have setup everyone that has submitted themselves as a beta tester. So, i you haven't gotten an email from Apple and from me with instructions, please check your spam folder and then let me know.

I've already noticed a number of crashes, which is good and the reason I do beta testing! I am hoping to have a pretty solid app by the beginning of competition season.

I also want to give a huge shout out to FRC Spyder and FRC Tracker - both applications were inspiration for FRC Central. You will even notice that in the settings area, I provide a link to those applications as a way of recognizing their ongoing efforts as well.
