Team 254 Motion Profiling Variables

I have a question to ask, for the 2014 254 trajectory (motion profiling) class in the libraries, some of the variables are the goal and start positions. How are these values measured in 2d? Are they coordinate points? If they are, then how can they be used in conjunction with the velocity and acceleration (I am assuming that the velocity and acceleration variables are scalars). Thanks for your time.

Yes, these are 2d coordinate points. The robot starts at (0, 0). Positive x is straight ahead, positive y is to the left. We used inches for units, but as long as you are consistent throughout, the units don't really matter. Velocity and acceleration are inches/sec and inches/sec^2 respectively.
