Riding a Segway

Who here has ridden a segway? They look really cool, what is it like to ride them? Also, where could I get a chance to ride one? At the NH regional maybe? I heard Dean Kamen would be there....

they will be at the NH regional with Dean, at the LI regional with Bart, and at nationals of course, i asked bart that question saturday and thats what he said

I think they might also be at VCU because Kamen has been there the past 2 years.

It's very fun

I got to hold a Segway at Nats last year but they didnt let me ride one.... I dont know why.........

I was able to take a short ride on a segway earlier year. Michelin developed the tire and wheel for "IT".

It was really cool. If you lean forward like you are going to start walking, segway moves forward. If you lean back, it stops or moves backwards.

If you get a chance, go for a ride :)

I rode one earlier last week - the campus police at WPI have them.... they let me take a spin on one.... very smooth! i got to use the red (fastest) key.... wow that was fun... it just goes like... well, a pair of magic sneakers :)

I have ridden the segway 4 times. They are very very cool to ride, well I guess riding is the wrong word. Its NOT like riding, no pedling no coasting no brakes... Its so increadable.

Its like it becomes a part of you

I rode one last year, when a Segway representative was at Delphi. It's really like nothing else out there, imagine just gliding around w/o having to move. You can really tell how smooth it is when u ride one on a concrete floor.

rode them twice, once at nationals last year. and then last month when i was at wpi right after they had gotten thiers from dean

Darn you! They told me that they aren't allowed to let students try them for insurance reasons. Maybe that cop really does hate me...
