findrobotparts.com Updates

As everyone prepares for kickoff we wanted to let you know that our team has been hard at work since Championships adding more and more products to our website.

Find Robot Parts is designed to help all FRC teams compare all the options that are out there at one location. We do not sell any items we just help you find what product is best for your use case.

A great example of how to use the site is if you are looking for a gearbox with a 1/2" hex output shaft and 2 CIM motor inputs you can filter it down to this list: http://findrobotparts.com/gearboxes/...7/tags/10,21,8

We now list 27 categories with over 650 products and more being added almost daily. We also take suggestions to add to the site since there is no way for just one team to know everything that is out there. Please check us out as you build your robot and please send us any feedback: http://findrobotparts.com/

The site looks great and much improved since you first launched it! Might I suggest adding the option to filter by price as I imagine that teams might find that useful when looking for certain parts.

Great site, we've been using it for a while now.

Question though: should the Viair 98C still be listed in the compressors section? I know some of the old 98Cs were rated for 1.1 CFM @ 12V, but with Viair having upped their specs to 1.53 CFM (apparently at 13.8 V) the compressor wouldn't be legal under FRC pneumatics rules from the past few years.

I mean...it's not Newegg...we just don't use computer parts on robots (webcams aside).

One category that is missing and could be a real help to teams is cameras. A list of units that have proven to be reliable and seen success for a season would be a real help as more and more teams are taking the vision plunge.

Fun fact: Newegg sells all kinds of weird stuff, including motors, zip ties, and Velcro. I think they even sell small appliances and I don't know about you but i would love to have a grilled cheese maker in the workshop.

The problem with listing prices is that those can change. We manually curate the entire site and since facts about a product won't change we can get away with that.

We pull products from over 90 websites and writing a website scraper that can handle each one of those would be impossible especially when you consider some of the things we list include add-ons so the script would have to know what selections to make.

You can find all the cameras that we have found so far under sensors. If you filter it to the Type of Camera you can get this list: http://findrobotparts.com/sensors/ca...es/13/tags/210

If we get a lot of cameras we can always split that out into its own page and compare the specs between them. If you know of cameras that we don't list please add them to our spreadsheets linked from every page.
