Special Pricing for 3DS Max?

Our team wants to buy (or lease) a couple extra copies of 3DS Max. Does anyone know if Discreet (Autodesk) is offering some sort of special deal to FIRST members?

Nothing special for FIRST that I know of...

The best price you will find is about $465 from an individual educational reseller like http://www.studica.com/discreet/ but note that this is an individual student price and NOT the school's price.

The institutional educational price that the school would pay is closer to $1000 per copy and only through institutional resellers. Talk to your teacher for more details...

while you only get one authorization code, you can install the software on as many computers as you want. Just note that it only is a demo for 30 days and then cuts out. This would be a cheaper alternative than buying a new version every year. It's not the most ethical solution, but it is legal.

If you have a bunch of computers all hooked together on a network you can use the Portable License Utility and add all the computers to the Pool so they all run off the same license. I'm pretty sure.

I have an extra Max copy that has never been open if you want it (to buy of course). Also, yeah, if you use the portable license utility you can get each computer to use the same license for 24 hours. Then you just transport the license all over the place again and you have another 24 hours, it's effective and cheap and legal, just not great if you plan to render for like 25 hours. You could however have one pc be the always license one for that kind of render job. If you need more details just ask, I don't feel like explaining more unless I need to.
