Stirling. S - t - i - r - l - i - n - g. With a capital S. For those with a small vocabulary, capital = big. A guy created it. His last name was Stirling. |
Come on it's only a ftp server?
I'm just wondering why it's so hard to get this file from you?
nex@absolutegeek:~$ ping 24.62.218.193 PING 24.62.218.193 (24.62.218.193): 56 data bytes --- 24.62.218.193 ping statistics --- 46 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss Maybe email me and i could get it from you and host it on my ftp && apache servers. |
=( b0rk
LOCAL -> Connecting to (24.62.218.193).
ERROR -> No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it |
To whoever gets it - I have a permanently-up FTP server running at 24.186.144.31, port 21, user: FTPuser pw: easy (as in EASY to remember, har har har!). I'm willing to host it for everyone, I just need someone to upload it there first. So someone set it up to upload, and i'll host it for everyone else (even http for those of you who are having problems with ftp).
If you have trouble connecting to my FTP, it's probably because of 'psav mode' or 'passive mode' (name depends on the ftp client). Long story short - Linksys makes sheizer routers for hosting server behind. If you have problems connecting, try explicately turning psav on or explicately psav off in your ftp client (I forgot which setting makes it work, but play with it). |
Ummm...
Has anyone considered that this might be a hoax -- being that no one has been able to download it? |
Dean has been on Tech Live all week. I just saw the segment on the Stirling and they said that his goal is to make one small enough to power a segway and that he wants to convert his steam engine at his house into a Stirling.
Tonight they talk with him about FIRST. TechTV.com |

When I get home from school I'll see about uploading it on SuperDanMan's ftp server. Stephen |
Sorry about that guys. The above post was mine, not Jac's.
He was logged on on this computer, and I thought it was me. Stephen |

hope its not too late ...
Ok, I am currently uploading the file to SuperDanman's ftp server. It's going to take a while for it to finish, but after that you should be able to download it.
Just in case you don't want to scroll back up, here's his server info again: 24.186.144.31, user: FTPuser pw: easy Stephen |
Sorry long post...
why does it seem no one knows how to run correctly a ftp server
