HOW MANY STEAMACRITS

I am wondering how many Steamacrits we might see at a match ?

Re: HOW MANY STEAMACRITS

I have not heard that term before. Could you clarify for some of us who are not familiar with Steamacrits?

Re: HOW MANY STEAMACRITS

Im interested to know why this is in the glossary, not mentioned anywhere else in the manual...

It's just a tongue in cheek joke.

Remember; FIRST is staffed by real live humans, some of whom have a sense of humor.

We have to have a Steamacrit complaining-and-raygun contest at the competitions! What kinds of paint stick best to plastic?

I hate the term like you wouldn't believe, but had to in this case. Fixed that for ya!

Also remember that they've been anxiously waiting to reveal the game to the masses and need some form of comic relief or they are going to explode

*Hi guys! See you guys at HQ in a few weeks*

We have used many different types of spray paint for plastic. You just need to make sure it is designed specifically to adhere to plastic. It also helps to remove any glossiness from the plastic before hand. Steel wool works very well to remove the gloss.

We usually get ours from Lowe's or Walmart.

Our favorite is this one: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Rust-Oleu...er-2x/37326858

Throughout my years of Nerf modding I have found that painting plastic can be tricky, but here is the process I have discovered works best:
Step 1: sand and wash the entire surface of what you want to paint
Step 2: apply a base coat of black vinyl dye (automotive spray paint)
Step 3: let the vinyl dye dry
Step 4: apply the desired paint color (I agree rustoleum is the best)
Step 5: let that dry
Step 6: CLEAR COAT IT!!! Theres no reason not to!
Step 7: let that dry
Step 8: enjoy :D

Gotta admit... when I saw the four gears on the top of the boiler during the kickoff video, I commented, "That's what happens when you put too much "A" into "STEM"".

Not sure at what point it became "For Inspiration and Recognition of Artistic Designs that Ignore Science and Technology".

Gotta go put a fresh coat of paint on my ray gun now.... :-)

Yes, I saw this on reading the manual but didn't get around to posting. Having come of age in the early 1980s (not the 1880s which would have been better for this game) I of course wondered if it was a Ronald Ray Gun.

Speaking of 1980s and 1880s, I may (temporarily) return to my early-mid 1980's facial hair style which was more appropriate in the 1880s (at least on this side of the pond) - full mutton chops and mustache, chin and jowls bare. No one has seen the skin of my chin since 1990 - two years before Maize Craze.

I like that the boiler power switch is set to OFF on the official field's vinyl graphics. Makes perfect sense.
