[Ri3D] -- All teams -- Summary information please

So if there was an easy way for all the teams to respond to Ether's request, that would be great. Thanks! |
Re: [Ri3D] -- All teams -- Summary information please
Asking personally for the paper I'm writing today on 'Snow Problem's prototypes: More or less detailed than our strategy white paper is?

I'm grateful for this resource but goodness it could be easier to use. |
Re: [Ri3D] -- All teams -- Summary information please
I made this Twitter list on our team's account and use it to follow what's going on: https://twitter.com/LNSTEMpunks/lists/robot-in-3-days.

Re: [Ri3D] -- All teams -- Summary information please
We post a lot of those "Ah ha!" moments on Twitter and Facebook.
Additionally, I monitor the Twitch chat to answer queries and take questions for our short 11 AM, 2 PM, 5 PM, and 11 PM Q&A update shows as well as our full-length 8 PM show. Plus, if you request pics/explanations/videos of anything via Twitter (others are OK too but tags are the easiest to follow), we've been pretty good about answering! We're doing our best to make the info accessible even if you can't tune in for 16 hrs a day! |

The Twitch link is for if you choose to watch the live stream. No need to check all 3 platforms :) |
Re: [Ri3D] -- All teams -- Summary information please
While it's probably too late to figure out something universal now, I'll talk with other teams about coming up with a one stop shop for next year's Ri3D. I very much agree with marshall that the large number of teams presents a problem for teams or those interested in lessons learned from the various Ri3D builds. We should have thought of this sooner :)

Thanks, that would be great! I appreciate all the hard work, like Ether, just want to make sure that such valuable info gets out as much as possible. |
Re: [Ri3D] -- All teams -- Summary information please
While I know it's not quite what everyone is looking for, here is a twitter list (timeline feed) from the known Ri3D twitter accounts.
Our excellent social media/graphics/magic person, Christina also put together a spreadsheet of all the teams we have info on. You can find that in her post here. Hopefully that makes getting info from every team easier! Let us know if you have any of the info that's missing in her spreadsheet or the twitter accounts for the teams we're missing. |

The GreenHorns will have ours out tomorrow, with a white paper coming either tomorrow or the day following. I'm surprised that no team has put out a video yet!

The reveal is intended to be a celebration of the robot and the performance. For our thought process check out these videos!! It's almost impossible to watch the streams for information. At some point in the near future we will look at compositing these videos into longer segments however the best bet is to watch the daily videos. |
Re: [Ri3D] -- All teams -- Summary information please
What I can say for my FRC team - THANK GOD Ri3d is OVER ;) ! - but I was sad to see them go...
It is a bit of a sacrifice to give up our shop and engineering lab for 3+ days, but it is something that 4607 and Becker Schools are committed to so that our local teams (and the rest of the FRC world) are able to benefit from. As much as I would like to keep all of these GreenHorns with us, they must go back to their lives. It was a blast to have NDSU's Bison Robotics GreenHorns here for the 3rd year. To watch some of the best from MN and ND come together to build their machine was incredible. As the head coach from 4607 I was so happy to have my alum back - I wish I could keep them! But to talk with the kids (sorry, you are always going to be kids to me) from 3244, 2181, 4818, 2502, 3755, 1520, 4656, 3276, 4009, 4632, 5541, 2512, 3293 and the BEST alum - was incredible. To hear the excitement from each of them I talked to, to hear their stories from the teams that they came from was awesome. Such a great group. To know that these young adults are this excited and ready to mentor is a testament to their generosity. What most don't realize is that these people gave up their last weekend of Winter Break to camp out (and most gave up their first two days of classes), stay up for an ungodly amount of time, and put together a complete robot that will benefit so many teams. The best part is that most of these GreenHorns will be volunteering at MN FRC Regionals this year - so they completely understand how difficult it is to build this year's robot! They were incredible and left no mess whatsoever. I cannot thank GreenHorns enough for the inspiration that they have provided the last few years. A special Thanks to Jesse and Tyler as they led this year's endeavor - and seeing the final product, it was an amazing success! And to the rest of the Ri3d teams - I understand your sacrifices and thank you as well; I truly believe that you are raising the bar for FRC across the board. ~Coach Jurek |
