How has the new server treated us?

Well, it's been a week. Just wondering if the new server has effected your chiefdelphi.com viewing experience in negative/positive ways.

Reply with comments, vote in the poll, etc.

Thanks,
Brandon

It's been faster.

It's been gr8 except for one thing.

Today there was a database backup at about 11:15 EST and I could not access any threads. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the new server though.

No, that was my fault. :)

Oops.

Yea I noticed that too, I accordingly paged Brandon :p , I needed something to do doing my "work" time at school :D

I really haven't noticed any difference, but I have DSL and it doesn't really matter, ;)

Yeah the new server is running quite well. No long delays for pages to loadup.

Johca_Gaorl 06-12-2002 11:54

Seems faster to me! :D

Yeah, I'm basically looking for an overall performance review, over the whole past week. On the old server, during peak times, it would be slower than other times. This shouldn't be as noticable on this server, since we are the only ones on it. I didn't expect it to be any faster overall -- just more reliable and stable.

Trashed20 06-12-2002 15:24

im on 56k and its been faster. The images load quicker (and its not because of my cache). Very nice ;)

Looks like you did the server switch just in time, with that thread about the new location on nationals explodeing with posts left and right would the old server be able to handle that much traffic....

It would've all depended on what the other 500 sites were doing that day. It probably would've been alot slower.

More Consistent

I don't notice it being faster at off-peak times, but I haven't had a slow page load all week. At times in the past, its been kind of slow.

it seems to be running a bit faster. i noticed a huge change when it was first up, but it's gotten back to a bit above normal (which was still blazing fast for the most part anyways).
