Rotating Gears to Turn Rotors

When turning the gears to rotate the rotor, does it matter which direction you turn it? Clockwise or Counter-Clockwise? Is there an arrow telling you which way to go?

I've haven't found the answer yet in my searching.

If you look carefully at the field drawings, you'll see that some of them need to be turned CW, and others CCW, to turn the rotors in the direction that will provide lift for your AIRSHIP. Pay attention!

Because we all know how great Archimedes screws are at generating lift...

This is speculation but from pictures of the field and intuition from past games I'm fairly confident that they are using a photo sensor to count the rotations of the gear from the spokes going past the sensor. If this were the case the direction of rotation would not matter.

I have not seen any mention of a direction, and I can't really imagine that it would make a difference. One thing about "steam" art type stuff, is that it usually never really does anything, so function is not important.

I posted a Q&A on it just to make sure. I'll pass along the response when I get it.

Q&A has replied that the direction does not matter. Which means at lift off you may be propelled downwards :ahh:

In the hidden designs of the Airship, there is a Rectifier that translates the motion of the gears to upward propelling only.

Well, the boiler's switch is set to "off", so...
