Re: 4296 Teaser Trailer
Can you post some closeups of the shooter? very consistent.

Re: 4296 Teaser Trailer
Can't wait to see the reveal video guys

Re: 4296 Teaser Trailer
shooting is the easy part. It's the ball sorting and feed that is the hard part.

"We're going to worlds baby."
A good shooter does not a winner make. There's still plenty of other tasks to focus on before even thinking about a win. That said, excellent shooter and great work guys! For those wanting to see more on the shooter, there are some closer shots near the end of this video. |
Re: 4296 Teaser Trailer
Very impressive! How much compression are you using with your shooter?

Re: 4296 Teaser Trailer
Our shooter uses a 1:3 versaplanetary gearbox powered by a BAG motor rotating a 4in HiGrip AndyMark wheel. This combination gives us more than enough power to shoot balls. To position we're using the arc method: having an arc that gives consistant compression on the ball and depending on where the arc ends is the angle it shoots at.
Looking forward to seeing all the great designs and competition! |
Re: 4296 Teaser Trailer
There is no 1:3 versaplanetary gearbox (http://www.vexrobotics.com/versaplanetary.html)
I assume you means 3:1? I'm quite surprised you got such accuracy and power with such a small motor. |
Re: 4296 Teaser Trailer
I think by compression they mean the distance between the hood and flywheel. It looks close to 5 in. to me.

Re: 4296 Teaser Trailer
We consistently use 1/4" of compression through our whole robot when designing anything that involves fuel. It seems to work pretty good, not too much stress on the motor but enough to grip the ball enough to move and shoot.
