Maximum couter rate into the RoboRIO?

Given the counter class/encoder class uses the FPGA for counting events, does anyone know what the maximum counter rate is per second into the RoboRIO? We've got a lot of potential encoders and high-speed tachometer inputs and I want to make sure we're not maxing out the RIO.

TIA,

Mike

DIO inputs are sampled at 40MHz and timestamped with a 40MHz clock.

and they're implemented in parallel, so 40MHz per channel.

Great! Thanks! I couldn't find that documented anywhere in the RoboRIO specs.
