My Fav would have to be an old team name for 303 - Vulgens Hero's

OneAngryDaisy 09-12-2002 23:11

Y'know, I think its sad how words today have "double meanings"- I mean, look at Team 643... Imagine if the company that created the double meaning instead named its product "Apple"...

And no I am not just saying this because my school's mascot is a trojan..

But I gotta say the best name is Miss Daisy.. People were holding up posters last year at Philly's regional saying "Miss Daisy is Hot"-

Placebo is was definatly a good "team" or "robot" name.

Others not mentioned that I have liked are:
Technonuts robot named Nutty (biased)
Gompei (also Biased)
Duct Tape Bandits
U-FO

Jnadke 10-12-2002 02:13

LOL!

Our team name is actually NEW Apple Corps.

TOBOR is our robot name. We have 5 TOBOR robots, and 1 robot before that.

What made you think of TOBOR IV? I wasn't there that year, but I know about the "knocking the clock off the wall" incident and stuff. Tobor IV (4) is our 2001 robot (TOBOR is ROBOT spelled backwards).

Re: Favorite team name

Last year, I really liked Team 173's name, "RAGE". I just found out that RAGE stands for "Robotics And Gadget Engineering".

Does anyone happen to know what S.P.A.M. stands for? (Their web site is down.)

Have to say that "Wildstang" is a great name. Anyone know the story behind that name?

By the way, we were "The Azgardians" last year. Normally it is spelled "Asgardians" in English, from Norse mythology meaning those who live is Asgard, the home of Norse Gods and slain heroes. This year, we decided to change it to something more recognizable. Also it was a little too close to "#%#%#% guardians" for some people which is the reason for the "z". We didn't want to be thought of as people who just guard their own #%#%#%'s. However, I would appreciate some objective feedback. What do you'all think of "The Azgardians" as a team name?

Team 980 (the team without a name...duh, duh, duh, dah...so far this year)

I prefer Team 384 myself... I'm only a little biased. :)

But our friends from Code Red have a good name along with my all time favorite team: MOE. I don't know why, but I can't get enough of MOE.

WildStang - (n)
The concatentation of the mascots of the two high schools involved in team 111: The Wheeling High School WILDcats and the Rolling Meadows High School MusSTANGS.

Thus, creating WILDSTANG :-)

0131 - C.H.A.O.S.
0180 - SPAM
0191 - X-Cats (well i'm bias too)

actually, yeah...84.... but that's cool anyways...... OMG! WOW! how did you ever stumble across picking up Chuck N Moose??? I think I am the only 'crazy' one who ever even speaks or writes that name... that's cool though. Being biased... but the name is definitely original.... "Team 84, Home of the WATTNESS monster"

anyways...... I definitely like Gompei... way cool name.... one that I remember from my very first year... and sorry I don't have any definite details, but, they were Children of the Swamp, I believe? Perhaps from the Alabama/Georgia/Mississippi area?
