Horizontal FOV of Microsoft Lifecam Cinema
Title. I can't seem to find this information in the interwebs.
EDIT: Sorry for the confusion, this is NOT the HD-3000. This is a different product. https://www.microsoft.com/accessorie...nema/h5d-00013 |
Re: Horizontal FOV of Microsoft Lifecam Cinema
The Microsoft webpage has a link to the datasheet for this product.
https://www.microsoft.com/accessorie...hspecs-connect From the datasheet, the diagonal field of view is listed as 68.5 degrees. |

Here's an old thread that has some numbers:
https://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/s...d.php?t=144285 Empirically, my team has found that 53* is closer to correct. |

Re: Horizontal FOV of Microsoft Lifecam Cinema
That's mostly the difference between horizontal FOV and diagonal FOV. Using 53.0 degrees HFOV and a 16:9 ratio between the HFOV and VFOV and the formula for the angle between two points on a sphere given latitude and longitude, and assuming that rectangle is bisected by the equator, I get 66.0 degrees as the diagonal FOV.

Edit: from 16:9 ratio, inferred HFOV is 64.4 degrees, VFOW 36.2 degrees. |
