Maybe he'll just make tall people shorter, so the average makes short people SEEM taller.

That's why being short is better than being tall -- short people can be taller (with the aide of stilts or something), but tall people can't be made shorter (without a lot of pain involved) :D

There is a way to make short people taller using surgery. It's only used for midget sized people only.

Not always. The technique I think you're talking about was done experimantally at Stanford for children with limbs that wouldn't grow as fast as the others due to breakage or congenital defects.

I know because I was one ofthe early ones to get it done back in the seventies. In the early days, they used a one sided approach with a little corkscrew mechanism called the Wagner device that was attatched from the outside, all the way into the bone with long pins. It involved breaking the bone and slowly separating the two pieces in munute amounts over thirty days along with constant stretching of the surrounding tissues. When the separation was complete, and they got the extra inch or two of length they wanted, a bone graft would be done from another location in the body to fill the gap.
Ten years or so later they used a method that went into the limb from several different angles and a device that encircled the entire thing. They used it in the movie, GATTACA if you want a look.

Very painful. Think twice before you do it.

Short people
 

Short people are not short people. That term is politicaly incorrect.

They are Vertically Challenged people.

Yeah, well all I know is that this "vertically challenged" girl makes Mr. Kamen look like a giant when she stands next to him.

So much for stretching the vertically challenged ones. All anyone has to do is give me a call to look tall.:D

Well us tall people could be shorter by just walking on our knees all day. I'm only like 5" when I do that.

Maybe instead of making people taller or shorter, he will make then skinnier or fatter... what a concept!!!

if he makes short people taller than soon we'll have dumb people smarter, and slow people faster, but since it's alot easier to go the opposite ways (taller to shorter, smarter to stupid, fast to slow) than soon we will live in a harrison bergeron world.
