Team 449 robot climbing

This is our (mostly) finished robot climbing. It is almost at full weight, and climbs in about 5 seconds. We are using a single Mini CIM with a 50:1 VersaPlanetary to drive our winch, which uses bolts to grab a loop.

Seems to be happening on-and-off. Refresh a few times, see what happens.

Hi,

Is the shaft going all the way through the drum? Or is it connected to just a fit in piece for the end piece?

Are those just bolts drilled through the roller?

Very nice design!

The shaft goes all the way through the roller drum, and is steel (we didn't want to risk an aluminum shaft given how long it was). The bolts are simply fastened through holes in the roller with nuts.
