What song help you work on your bot?

What songs does you team listen to, to in essence get a second wind and keep you going for another hour or two?

I know with our team every once in a while we will play Jerry Lee Lewis - Great balls of fire, everybody in the room will sing as loud as they can, and dance all around. We use it to relive stress. Other songs we use to do that are:
-Righteous Brothers - You've lost that loving feeling
-Crystal Method Remix - Magic Carpet Ride
-Charlie Daniels Band - The devil went down to Georgia

DanL 01-01-2003 00:57

ehehe... devil went down to georgia is a great song. The Primus cover of it is great too :)

Matt Attallah 01-01-2003 02:21

We have a lot of different people on my team, so really nothing but headphones for each person. I personally like techno/house/trance/any/all of that and some linkin park, while an engineer on my team "strongly dislikes" that type of music. We have some God smack fans in the house, along with the boy bands. So, it's really a mixed house! :yikes:

i have a feeling that one my team, we'll be playing oldies, oldies, oldies, someone will try to play some death metal and will be shot, oldies, oldies...

it comes down to a matter of what me and dan and a few select others like, cause we're the officers, so we can do whatever we want :p.

This year I know in our shop we get to listen to 70s soul music b/c almost everyone got sick of led zepplin and pink floyd except for me...

DanL 01-01-2003 13:16

zepplin and classic rock in general is good working music... a bit of ACDC perchance? Back in Black?

Ian W. 01-01-2003 14:54

dan, we'll need an old computer and a #%#%#%#%#%#%#% speaker system, and a huge hard drive. then, all will be good ;).

We had Tunak playing over and over during our build session where everyone would just get up and start singing and dancing to it. I swear, the first time I saw that it was really strange but entertaining. We also had a tendancy to bust into "I Will Survive" many many many times.

I forced people to listen to The Doors and Pink Floyd.

BBFIRSTCHICK 01-01-2003 17:29

We mainly used music late at night to keep us up! Usually Punk or Rock. Or at times some old catchy song that everyone knows the words to and we would all sing along.:]

Katie Reynolds 01-01-2003 19:33

I like to listen to "Break Stuff" when working on the robot. ;)

Usually, we play hard rock (or DMB) in the main work room, hard rock in the metal shop and Pink Floyd for us 'back room' electrical folks!

I have a pic somewhere of a group of us working on the bot boobing our heads up and down to Ian Van Dahl "Castles In The Sky". Then there's Abba "Dancing Queen" .... but that's a story for another time.

Whatver is on the radio :)

Mongoose 02-01-2003 01:21

Beatles, Beatles, and more Beatles, until somebody else rips out the CD and sticks a new one in. I particularly like the Blue Album and the One album. When I start breaking out into "Penny Lane", people give me funny looks. I think there'll be no Beatles this year.

vertigojoe 10-03-2003 18:13

Journey all the way baby....

Team238-aholic 10-03-2003 18:22

"We Like to Party" by the Vengaboys....

Josh Hambright 10-03-2003 19:41

Hatebreed - I will be heard
Styx - Mr Roboto
Anything by rage.

Disturbed is like all we listen to before competitions! cuz its crazy awsome sweeeeet music.

Rev. Lovejoy 10-03-2003 20:43

On the drive home it was always screamo music when something wasn't going right, and when it was, it was ska.

"Super Orgy Porno Party" was probably my song of choice.

Amanda Morrison 11-03-2003 01:12

Three of our members (including myself) are all from deep in the heart of Hammond, the Chicago suburb... so of course, who pulls up in the F-150 blaring 'Roll Out' by Ludacris before competition in St. Louis on Saturday? :D

During build season, we were too frantic to listen to music, but if we were, it was the live Bon Jovi or Hootie and the Blowfish.

Josh Hambright 11-03-2003 08:13

Ohh i forgot about beastie boys, license to ill rotates in about every 4 cds. Just cuz we all can sing along and have a good time.

I have a tendancy to force the rest of my team to listen to my music, thus alot of punk, metal, and techno. They still haven't found an apreciation for glassjaw yet!

and i'm all like screaming along and running around like an idiot banging into people!

mmmm glassjaw...

Ohh sublime too, when the adults aren't around we like to listen to 40 oz of freedom and self titled.

ohh and nikibajbaj just reminded me, lots and lots of radiohead.

Greg Perkins 12-03-2003 07:32
