Projectiles... mmmmm....

I agree
I think it goes under destruction of the playing field, and is automatic DQ. Here we go, DQ7 states that if any part of your robot damages the playing field that the referees can disqualify you. Hope that Helps

Yea I think the wording of that rule is such that if you are intentionally removeing the lids your DQ ed

but if your robot breaks them....you also get dq'd. i don't think its very smart to be launching them anyways....
|
what happens if a robot happened to be in the way and it got pelted.....real hard?
|
Probably wouldn't do much damage. If the bins are as light as they look, they won't fly very well.

bins breaking
this is going to be a major problem this year. today at the kick off there were two already broken just in the demonstration that they did. i talked to woody and he expects to go through a lot of them.

They were about $4 a piece at a local Walmart (San Jose, CA), and Jason Morrella was selling his personal stash at $5 a piece at the San Jose State University remote kickoff. |
but is there not always a chance that the container take out like an arm or something? though unlikely, how would the ruling be if you broke somethin of the other teams'?
