this is not good

ARGGGG...being a rookie a part of a rookie team is a pain.
we got our bot planned, but now we have litlle problems how much the goal actually weighs.... ??? The manual - i read every word in it, says they are 130lb...and then we have the old list of parts, and the "UPDATED" version is not updated at all :( ..well i was wondering if anyone can shine some light on those topics...oh yeah im gonna go practice my basketball shot for those hail maries in the alliane station :)

Goals.....

The goals weigh between 160 and 175 lbs........if u look around the forums there are many threads that debate this....

:D

Officially, according to team update 1, the goals weigh 181 lbs.

i recall them saying soooo many times at kick off that it is 181lbs.

Take that number as its been mentioned several times.

Good luck my rookie friend. It's a bumpy ride ahead. The rookies that survive it join the veteran club faster.

Is there any other way to join the veteran club except to survive it? So how would you do it faster than by surviving it. Or maybe I've just been doing this too long. ;)

Other question

You can find the list of all the components on the goal from the field drawings on the FIRST site. Look on the documents and updates page. There is a link to field drawings in .pdf and .dwg format. Hope that helps. Good luck.

I do believe the proper weight is 181lbs. If a goal weighs too little, add some extra weight. If too much, chop some holes :)

Worked for us a few years ago when our robot was overweight ;)

Martin,
Congrats on doing the first thing to become a veteran - ask questions. We are all in this together, and really do want to make the bumpy rookie season a little smoother. Thats one of the reasons we (the chiefs) have created a site like this.
As far as the answer goes, it sounds like its 180 lbs or so. That should be close enough for whatever you are planning on doing. Thanks to everyone that posted - your help is what this is all about! Lastly, rookie - if you don't keep working on that jump shot, make sure your designated human player does. Mark my words, balls will fly as plans will fall - being prepared for the "hail mary" will come in handy! Good luck to all the rookies!
