sorry to bother you again for advice, but...

I have a problem that I'm afraid to approach, because I don't want to cause a team rift.
See, a girl on my team hates my b/f, and tells me so every time I see her. I've tried to tell her that I don't want to hear it, and if she has a problem with him, talk to him. She doesn't listen, and gets mad at me for refusing to intervene. (This is after flipping out at me for something she says he did). Any suggestions on how to make her shut up without causing a team rift?

sorry to be bothering people with my personal problems, but i'm at my wits end, and can't really ask anyone here, as they don't understand the team's dynamics.

thanks a ton!

Tell her she's just jealous, then proceed to cover her mouth with duct tape

Caleb Fulton 06-01-2003 22:44

Hmmm

I'd just ignore her :)

Wow, this sounds like it belongs in an issue of YM or something! ;)

Tell her what I tell the people on my team: You don't have to like everyone, but you do have to get along with them! If the problem is really that big, maybe you need to take it to a team advisor and work it out between the three of you.

SMACK THAT---wait, this is CD

sorry about that...

Tell her to talk to your boyfriend or deal with it....

as katie said, you might not like everybody, but tough, such is life, deal with it. tell her that, and then she can't really say much but "oh.", or so i think... :p

I sware I thought the same thing! :D Just her off to the side, and tell her that she is going to have to live with it. Life isn't always fair, and this is one of them. (No, I don't mean the Playing Field) ;)

Smack? But we're engineers. I agree with the above. I'd also suggest duct-taping her to a chair.

Thanks all!!! Now all I need to do is learn how to hit someone...

OneAngryDaisy 07-01-2003 22:16

Wait...What do you mean? You already know how to

MarkF 08-01-2003 08:23

Nah, she can't. I have to show her how to throw a punch; she said so herself. Hee hee....

purpledaisy 08-01-2003 12:29

*sigh*it's true. I can't throw a punch, and have never even smacked someone in earnest. (gotten really close, though). Mark keeps promising me he'll teach me, but hasn't yet. Oh well, I guess she's safe for a while. lol.

I would suggest a high technology approach, seeing as this is a technology-related forum. First, you should go to switzerland. There, you can stay the night in a nice hotel. Next, you come back, showing everyone your expensive swiss watch and knife. Next, eat some lunch , as you are most likely hungry. Obtain a large broadcasting medium, and then make an EMP to disrupt this girl on your team's computer that will drive her to insanity.

I've personally all but given up figuring out females. Of course people who know me know my terrible luck with the opposite sex, but if someone was saying stuff (for lack of a better word) about one of my friends, I'd probably just ignore them.
