Anyway, grab the Stamp editor from InnovationFirst's website, open the code in it, and choose Run from one of the menus. |

The questions you're asking aren't answerable without context or more information. Please think through your situation, the circumstances of whatever's going wrong, and then ask a coherent question. |
on my operator interface thr pmw2 lights r on and i of the controleres are not woring and the right side of the robot does not run but whren the servos r swiched the left side wors and the right side does not wor and the light on the robot does not wor. can someone help me i am a programer on my team and the robot just started to do all this?:ahh

Do you see that key next to the "z" on your keyboard. It's called "shift". Learn it, love it, use it. I'm happy to help, but it's difficult if I can't read what you are asking. Slow down, use some punctuation, and I'm sure somebody can help you.
[edit] There's a spell check button right before you post. Try it. [/edit] |

Try hooking up another joystick to port two and see what happens.

I still don't really understand what you are trying to say. Please realize that this is not one of those message boards where it is "cool" to leave letters out of words because you are too lazy to type the entire word. It's actually quite distracting and really turns people off from wanting to help.
Back to your problem: you really need to provide more info. Which default program are you using? Have you tried re-downloading it? If so, did you make any changes? As rwaliany said, it sounds like you're possibly using the two-joystick drive, in which case the y axis on port 1 controls pwm1 and the y axis on port 2 controls the other motor. Which joystick are you moving? Are any of the other LEDs on? What happens when you go into user mode? Is there a switch connected to sw2? |
Is the "BASIC Run Error" LED on? If so, download the code again off of InnovationFIRST, re-download that into your robot, and see.

on my operator inter face the PMW2 led is lightup. also the right side of the robot does not move but when i swich the two servo connectors arount thr right side of the robot moves but the left side does not. i am using the 2003 first default program both programs r in the robot the user works eveything else runs.can any one help me with this program?

Like I said, try two joysticks. Does anything work that did not before?
Since, I still do not completely follow, try this, if you want me to help. |

I see no reason to waste my time trying to understand what you are saying; answering a question, on the other hand, is not a waste of my time and I am happy to do. |
Well, let's see if I can confuse myself...
I was going to offer a possible solution, but after typing a few screens worth of text, I realized that I was just ranting and didn't know enough about the problem.
Are the motors that are having problems controlled by relays (in which case I may know the solution) or by PWMs (in which case I don't)? Are you controlling things with the joystick... (err... axis' axes? axi? How do you pluralize axis anyway?) Anyway, are you controlling (or trying to control) the robot by moving the joystick or using the buttons? What is hooked up to where? How did you re-download the 2.5 code to the RC with a 2.0 editor? |
helllllp me please
|
With what?
If you look through this thread, you'll notice two types of responses: some that offer suggestions, and others that don't understand what you are asking. Have you tried all the suggestions rwaliany made? In either case, you're going to have to explain your problem (preferably in English) in a way that we can understand. As of right now, I only know that it's not working and something about PWM2 being broken. |
As has been stated, it's not entirely clear what the problem is, but assuming you are using two joystick tank drive, are the joysticks plugged into port 1 and port 3? I believe those are the ports used in the default code for the left and right drive variables.

I cannot really tell what the problem may be without more specifics.... but you need to check and make sure that your joysticks are o.k...... you can try this by swapping them around to see if the problem follows one or the other. You also need to make sure that your joysticks/speed controllers are 'calibrated'.... sometimes you need to adjust the wheel on the base of the joystick until the LED on the speed controller is steady on. It will turn green or red whenever you are trying to control the motor in a positive or negative position. Check the breakers and fuses to make sure that nothing is burned out or tripped. You can also try to swap speed controllers, if that is what you are using.... and make sure that you have the right PWM channel going to the right controller.... it is easy to think you are on channel "x" and you're actually on channel "y"....
If you go through each of these possibilities and it still doesn't work, e-mail me directly: christine.q.powell@nasa.gov Good luck! Christine |
I am no doubt horribly confused, just as is everyone else, but I have a different take on things. It seems to me that you're trying to use one joystick drive but have the two joystick program in the RC. I don't know what that would have to do with the PWM LEDs, but it would explain why only half the robot works.

your not smart tell me something i don't know

Billy,
What these responders are trying to say is that we do not fully understand your problem. You say your PWM2 is broke but do not say what code you are running or what diagnostics you have attempted. My team, Bobcat Robotics are in South Windsor CT and I have been doing this for 9 years now. Perhaps you could have Mr. Jones or one of your other adult advisors give me a call if they would like to try and solve your problem. My number at work is 860-727-2478. I'll be at work between 7 AM and 4 PM tomorrow and we'll see if we can help you out. |
The problem might be that you are not connecting the left wheel's motor into the proper pwm output: I had that problem with the EduBot, too. Check the manual to make sure that your outputs do what you want done.

This is a useless post. The questions are unclear (in what I would not even call english). The person who is asking the questions, Billy, is mimicking the people who are trying to help.
"Billyp04 your not smart tell me something i don't know" If that was the problem didn't I tell you that (along with a way to fix it) in my first reply to your question. This seems pointless messaging you about how to fix it. http://www.innovationfirst.com/FIRSTRobotics/ They have some pretty good documentation, try it. I'm not going to waste anymore time reading non-sense. |
