Question about Pit/FIRST

I was told yesterday that I could not be in the pit if i was still on crutches... now i dont no if this is a team ruling or not... I was wondering if this was a Rule in FIRST or not. I have been crutches for 3motnhs and it might be a while longer and hopefullynot but might be during competition.
Thanks,
Nate

As long as you are not a safety hazard (and have you safety glasses on!) while you are in the pit, FIRST shouldn't have a problem with it! I think this is a team ruling. How fast can you move to get tools when you're on those crutches anyway? ;) :D

faster then some people travel on foot hehe... yea i was hoping it was just a team ruling ... Maybe i cant drive tho cause it says you have to have both feet planted on the ground when driving from what i understand.. am i right?

The only hazard crutches could have is if people trip on them or if you fall from other people running around bumping into you. If that gets to be too big of a problem, they might make you leave, otherwise you're fine.

FIRST will not punish you because you are temporarally (or long term) disabled. Read the rules, its in there.

I think they mean you can't stand on step-stool or ladder, or something to make you taller when you're driving. :)

The FIRST rules do say that, but it also said exceptions can be made for people with disabilities.

I really doubt FIRST would try to stop you (it kinda goes against what FIRST is).

This is a team decision (and I don't think a very good one).
