Inertia Guidance System

I have been thinking about construction an inertia navigation system for this year's bot, and i have run into many problems trying to design one. Does anyone know where I can find good information about the gyroscopes supplied in the kit, and also can anyone guide me as to how to couple two gyroscopes at right angles within a gimbal (can a gimballed gyroscope be easily built)?

Hi Venki,

There's a link to the data sheet here:

Naviagation with an IMU is really tricky and at best only good for short distances because the positional error is always increasing. I certainly don't mean to dissuade you because you'll learn a lot from doing it. To get you started, a Kalman filter is commonly used to clean-up the output of gyros. If you get really stuck, shoot me an e-mail and I'll get you some help.
