we also used skyway pneumatic wheels. They have INCREDIBLE traction on the mesh and HDPE, even with a simple drill tranny. On the mesh, I was pushing against the bot as hard as I could, and it didnt even know I was there. On the HDPE, again it pushed me off easily(I was not standing on the HDPE either) it has about 1000x the traction of the horrible stock wheels that came in the kit. I would definitely check them out. Here is a pic:

Can someone tell me really soon what the size of those tires are? Thanks.

the diameter of the wheel that we used, inclusing the hub is approximately 8"

Hmmmm, I wonder what those are wanted for :D

I just looked at the tires and they're labeled "Promo Durotrap" the size is "3.00-4". They're 10" in diameter. They're a very sticky compound (less silica, more natural rubber). As I mentioned, we got them directly from Skyway with our 4" hubs. -Kevin |
How do they handle the ramp and HDPE?
|
Skyway has either discontinued the pneumatic wheel line, or they just took them off their website. Does anyone have a catalog in pdf form?
|
 As stated above:

I am having trouble finding the cheng shin tires that we used. Their website (http://www.chengshintires.com )is totally in chinese, which isnt helping any, and many of the links dont work. If anyone has a catalog, or has seen cheng shin tires anywhere, please let me know, as we need to buy some new ones this year. I am going to try and find where we bought these from, but so far ive been unsucessful.

Here are some pictures that Skyway sent me today of different tires they sell and are on the FIRST order form.
This is the 8" x 2" wheel with diamond grip: This is the 9" x 2" wheel with lug grip: This is the 12" wheel with knobby grip: ![]() -Don |
Thats it!!! the first pic you posted is the tire that we used. Did skyway send you a catalog? It would be great to get this info.

I went to their web site, then called them. They then faxed me the FIRST order form. However, I didn't really know what I wanted, so I called them back.
Then, the sales guy (I wish I could remember his name because the service was great) took some digital pictures and emailed them to me. I then thought that others would want to see the pictures so I thought I would post them. Don |

An application engineer at Skyway sent me a drawing of their wheel WHL428. This is a 9" x 2" pneumatic tire on a 4" wheel, with a 5/8" ID hub and 3/16" keyway.
For other dimensions open the attached drawing (PDF format since the native .dwg file is 129k). |

We still have a bunch of students' cars and trucks to pull, but here in La Crescenta there's not a whole lot of flat ground. |

we havent driven them on the ramp enough to wear them down, but since we were using last years, they were worn down anyways.
