VickyE 15-01-2003 21:18

ChrisA 15-01-2003 23:49

hes planning a capture the flags game in houston in six flags which is where the team party at nats will be. if you leave your email he will email you the dilio (aka info).

i know his speech was bad, but come on you had to get at least one part of that.

Joe Matt 16-01-2003 09:30

Hmmm... I have a cool idea that is more of a scavanger hunt than a capture the flags at Six Flags (ironic).

D.J. Fluck 16-01-2003 13:50

I doubt 6 flags faculty & security would be openly supportive of this one..... but what do I know?

Melissa H. 16-01-2003 15:16

Is this opened to all teams?! 'Cuz if it is, sounds like fun!:D (Although I'm still a little confused...)

doomsdaytank 16-01-2003 16:42

ok listen

it is allowed at least i think last year at nationals we had a capture the flag in disney world. and it is open to all teams also we can set up a scavenger hunt just leave email

OneAngryDaisy 16-01-2003 17:18

You better have some bizarre way for people to distinguish the following:
a.-Who's actually playing
b.- Who's on the two teams

I can just see some poor kid being tackled by a capture-the-flag fanatic

chellyzee93 16-01-2003 17:41

sounds like a good time.. i don't exactly know how it's gonna work.. but sounds like fun

VickyE 16-01-2003 19:28

Sounds like fun. I'm up for playing

Cory 16-01-2003 19:31

/me wants to play

that is if I am in Houston:(

Cory

doomsdaytank 16-01-2003 19:56

ok

ok well there are diferent types of ways we can play this so leave your email and i am going to open a chat in msn or somewhereso if you are willing to then leave email and your team number

Mimi Brown 16-01-2003 22:15

I'm definatly up for this...we just have to qualify for nats first ;)

Harrison 16-01-2003 23:51

783 Shall be there........and if all the kids going play, thats 15 people (about).

Go CTF!

doomsdaytank 17-01-2003 15:17

ok now everyone else leave there team number and email to register for it there will also be prive for winning team(s) rules still being decided

doomsdaytank 17-01-2003 15:19

or if you don't want to post your email for every one to see send me a message with email

Hey, what if I'm the only one from my team who's up for this? Do I just register myself then?
(Yeah...my team officially thinks I'm insane...actually, it's probably been on their minds since September:D :D ....j/k!)

BEWARE: Long Post... (Sorry!:yikes: )

Okay, this is how I see it. (BEWARE: I <3 anything that remotely resembles laser tag or capture the flag...but I haven't tried paintball yet... )

This might cost the teams some money...but what about T-shirts? The two teams will have different colored t-shirts with something written on 'em...plus, they'd be a really cool keepsake from Nationals...
Such as: "I played Capture-The-Flag @ Six Flags @ Nationals!" or whatever...
If we get a bunch of teams to participate, I'm sure the order will be big enough to get them at a cheaper price. Then again...there's always flags (Ex: Flag Football...) but I think T-shirts would be a lot better...I know where to get these, I think...

As for division of teams, wait for the teams to send in registerations and the # of ppl on their team...then divide accordingly...probably at random...
But this really sounds like fun!!

Melissa H. 17-01-2003 17:40

I'll play...but I don't know 'bout the rest of my team...do I need my team to play? ( There's 16 total...but they're not really big on team spirit and stuff like that :( ...)

Who said i would bring one down there? I work for "The Sports Authority" and i can just purchase one down there. Just give them my employee numbers, and than bam! I'm golden!!

But i'd have to sell it before we leave...:yikes:

doomsdaytank 20-01-2003 16:20

ok

ok that shirt thing is a good idea i will look into it but it will cost money from people probibly only a couple of dollers so i need everyone who is going to leave there email and how many people from there team are coming so i can get the right amount of shirts. and when all emails are recived this thurs i will put a chat and we can make rules and exactly where it will be

Danaca 20-01-2003 17:39

Just pick two t-shirt colors...black/white/green...whatever, and have everyone who wants to play bring one or both, depending on how you want to split up the teams. That way you don't have to worry about collecting money or anything.

mgreenley 20-01-2003 17:49

you guys make me think about our sanity. capture the flag in the Park? a janitor would probally take our "flags" and pit them in the dumpster.

I'm all for it.

Melissa H. 20-01-2003 19:58

There's a lot of online sites that allow you to create t-shirts and sell them online...such as Cafepress.com...
But there should be a chat to decided rules and stuff, just so that everyone can contribute.

Harrison 22-01-2003 15:16

Well, everyone down there will have team t-shirts, so why not just make the 2 teams based on lightness/darkness of the team shirts?

Save some money buying one.

Just a thought.

Matt Attallah 22-01-2003 21:34

I'm game for skins and shirts...:yikes:

I like that idea about dark/light colors....

Melissa H. 22-01-2003 22:16

Well, the thing is, we need shirt colors that are different from all other shirt colors because common shirt colors among different teams, such as blues and whites will cause confusion. Some one on my team suggested bright colors to distinguish the teams.

But, I don't know many people who will wear bright greens and orange...;) :p

Running around in the Houston sun in a black shirt might not be too comfy, or dry for that matter.

(I'm very sorry if my previous post was offensive:) )
I didn't mean to say that bright orange and green were bad...but with the weather and amount of sunlight that Houston has...could be a little painful to the eyes...if you know what I mean...(Sorry if I offended anyone with the comment on bright greens and oranges...)

I'm interested, and I am sure that others on my team will be too. Just send the info about it,

That might be a little help...

Matt-You won't have to do any of that to insure your look for girls, remeber you are the sexiest man in melvindale! oloe

doomsdaytank 29-01-2003 15:36

ok

we might use buttons two dif colors all painted one color and remeber it does not have to be in the park we can have it like around the stadium or in the place between them and stuff

all this still to be decided

Melissa H. 29-01-2003 15:43

Buttons could be cool but from a distance, it might be hard to see who's on what team...just a thought...

doomsdaytank 17-02-2003 11:43

umm hold up

ok this dosnt seem to work very well to much things to plan. i dont think it is going to work. last year one was supposed to happen but do to mis comunications it didnt. so i guess i am going to end it unless someone else wants to try

Kyle 17-02-2003 12:55

i think we wait untill nats gets closer and try to make a plan then there have been many people who have want to do this i think the only problem(s) are where to meet and how to tell apart the teams both can be worked out some how if people aer still intrested email me at coalchamber2020@aol.com or IM me at coalchamber2020

mgreenley 17-02-2003 18:22

I agree with the post above. It's too early to figure out all the details.

Kiwi_queen 22-02-2003 11:29

I'm game (no pun intended) if Big Mike's cool with our team (25) joinin the fun.

Melissa H. 24-02-2003 15:02

If it's alright with everyone, I can set up a quick site with a electronic form so that everyone can sign in themselves and/or their teams and submit suggestions on the whole capture the flag game and any additional information. Then all this information will be sent to whoever is in charge of this whole thing. It's a whole lot easier and all the information will be sent in email format. ^_^ What does everyone think?

Brm789 05-03-2003 16:28

Capture the flag sounds sooo fun. It's closer now since we only have one more month. I don't know what team is representing us. I only have to question the knowing teams apart. Perhaps we should spread this out? aka..make a bunch of little teams and have a torament. Sorry if this is a repeat of someone elses post.

Email me or im me at Brm789@aol.com

RogerR 05-03-2003 17:13

wwhy don't we make duct tape X's or O's (or something like that) on the backs of our shirts?

Count me in either way
origanal2@aol.com]origanal2@aol.com

Melissa H. 05-03-2003 21:06

Yeah! Duct tape X's and O's would work...especially colored duct tape...

Kiwi_queen 05-03-2003 21:15

I like duct tape very much. sounds like a good idea to me! ;o)

Soukup 06-03-2003 07:56

If we qualify...I'm in...along with about 5 of my teammates.

email is on the bottom

Brm789 06-03-2003 10:51

LOL. It's a shame we don't have extra moe shirts. Those would stand out! LOL

EIROBOTICS86 09-03-2003 13:30

how bout each team uses there own flag

Melissa H. 09-03-2003 14:01

Each team using their own flag? Uh...what if I'm the only one from my team?:D ...heh...all alone...

This could work! Kind of like having a bunch of smaller teams and smaller games and one big tournament :D

Melissa H. 25-03-2003 15:58

Okay, Nationals is about 2 weeks from now...so, I set up something to register teams for the event...not sure about how we're going to do this, but might as well start somewhere.

Register! <--The site looks really bad...sorry...didn't have time to lay it out :(

I'll compile the info and send it to whoever wants it...if you want the info, email me and I'll get it to you ASAP...or I could Forward all the info as it comes, which ever works. :)

getting a paintball gun down to nats wouldn't be that hard really...you just put it with your bags that go under the plane and lock it up and tell them that theres a paintball marker(fancy word for gun)in that... people fly places with real guns. btw anybody actually play paintball or have a marker???

Melissa H. 31-03-2003 16:49

Okay. I've recieved a few forms...

The majority want to use duct tape to identify teams (someone is going to have to bring a lot of duct tape... :p) ...have one big game through out the park...exclude restrooms, rides, resturants, etc., from playing grounds...and meet at a ride near the entrance before the game...

What does everyone think?

DarkRedDragon 31-03-2003 18:52

im game and im sure my team is too.
email me at darkreddragon@email.toast.net

I would sugesst bandannas, and it could get real interesting if we allow spies, they simply switch colors and sneak in for recon or for a coveret strike. This will be good, might i suggest bubble wrap if we do tackle?

Melissa H. 31-03-2003 18:56

Wow...that is a really awesome idea! Spies would be really cool...and bandanas?! Awesome! (haha...almost typed bananas...:p ) <---eek....quick! Find some bandanas!
As for the bubble wrap...I might as well buy some...although I wonder if tackling is a good idea;) :p ...but no jobs too big for a little bubble wrap and duct tape...

DarkRedDragon 31-03-2003 19:00

hmmmm... what other ways can this made fun....

I know, nerf guns!

Melissa H. 31-03-2003 19:18

Oh my goodness...don't get me started on Nerf Guns :p ...lol...I'm waiting for my school to get a Nerf Tournamnet (sp?) going...
Is anyone else thinking water guns?
*goes through closet to find a super soaker*:D

DarkRedDragon 31-03-2003 19:21

lol, lets play ctf in a wave pool! that could get really interesting and fast

Melissa H. 31-03-2003 19:24

Interesting idea :)
But, do you mean interesting as in when a huge wave crashes over everyone and we're all swept out back to the shallow end, or interesting as in when I discover the inflatable raft and win the game? lol ;) :p

DarkRedDragon 31-03-2003 19:29

i was thinking that we might drown each other

Melissa H. 31-03-2003 19:39

haha :)
...or drown each other?...interesting:rolleyes:

DarkRedDragon 31-03-2003 19:41

yeah, i think it has happened before
i think we will stick to land

also, the spies could go no team, it would mean that u would need to know ure team

Melissa H. 31-03-2003 19:48

Good idea:)

*me peers over pool's edge...ends up leaning too far over...and...falls right in*:p

DarkRedDragon 31-03-2003 19:51

oh no not the asterick actionated chat thingy

*jumps in after, but misses pool at hits a.... ummmm.... ruber duckie? ah yes, a rubber duckie made of ducktape!

Melissa H. 31-03-2003 19:57

LOL!:D

DarkRedDragon 31-03-2003 20:01

anyone want to have a ducktape olympics? different events in which ducktape has to be applied? that could get a bit sticky, we would probably tape ourselves together!

Melissa H. 31-03-2003 20:03

Cool idea...start a new thread on that!:)

DarkRedDragon 31-03-2003 20:06

YES MAM!
