Our robot will have many strategically placed magnesium bolts that will self destruct whenever we contact another robot and are losing badly.

BBFIRSTCHICK 26-01-2003 19:55

We have been able to pull Hummers in the past. Hopefully this one as well

vertigojoe 29-01-2003 02:14

floating, eh?

Sweet, Team 229's robot can float.......nice job guys, just in case someone elses robot is armed with a hose, you go to be kidding me.

Sachiel7 29-01-2003 03:14

Our robot has a long arm like drive system which extends up to the ceiling supports at VCU, right above the field. It can roll forward or backwards on them. Our robot watches the game from overhead and can drop down to interact.
Our controls were super easy too! We have a "Win" button and a "Lose" button. It can't go wrong!

Well its not excatly a trick our robot can do, but...

I'll just say that we might be funding the purchase of very large fans because ummm it gets hot up here in new york city when you're sitting in the stands... you know so that you need a 12 foot fan.... :D

Yan Wang 01-02-2003 19:11

Stack up to 200... and win.

nickma 01-02-2003 22:12

Our robot has done a new trick and again this is not a joke. It was able to order a 6" Wheat, american cheese, roast beef, let, pick, and mayo grinder from Subway and again this really did happend. Sorry though I have no pictures, next time we get hungry though we will make sure to have a camera.

I still don't see how our bots can castrate anyone, but I don't really want to think about it... (Maybe if you replace some parts with sharp edges... or use that big piece of plate we have sitting on our parts cart...)

I suggested that our bot play some type of fanfare during the autonomous period, but apparently we can't work on that until we have wheels attached to something...

Ashley Weed 05-02-2003 22:55

Ours can sit and stay!!!!! :D

Clanat 06-02-2003 01:38

Our robot plays really loud music.

Lol...

a teacher on our team wants us to put a "scream" into our robot. It gets hit "AUGHHHHHHH!!!!"

Matt Attallah 06-02-2003 08:34

ours slices, dices, and that's not all..

If you order now, you will get an extra 30' of 30-30 extrusion. But wait, there's more.

If you order with in the next 5 minutes, you will get ME! Yes, who wouldn't like an announcer following them around? I would!...

Heh, just go look at our bot' and it's self explanatory... :p

Vincent Chan 06-02-2003 19:25

We've decided that our robot can take off an arm (or at least hyperextend it at the elbow). So be careful around our bot. :D

pauluffel 06-02-2003 20:23

Yeah Chan, I think it will be powerful enough to take off an arm, so we"re going to put some serious safety restraints on it and only open the valves all the way during matches and testing - never in the pits - but I think I"ll have the urge to test out how powerful it is on some of the annoying members of our team...
Anyhow, those 2" diameter pistons are really big, so I believe our robot will go high places this year (or at least send things there in it"s place.)

Vincent Chan 06-02-2003 21:01

Hey, now, don't be hurtin' TOO many of the teamies.

Of course, you could eliminate the less productive ones by placing a sticker with "Place hand here ^^handprint^^" and take the arms of those kids that try to throw paper balls through the paper tubing...
