Wireless camera ALLOWED as driver's aide?

So, are cameras used for driver's aid allowed...

...or prohibited? .....

I'd love to see this officially clarified in a Team Update.

i believe that cameras for drivers aid have always been prohibited. you can have a cmaera and have it broadcast to a tv in the pits and tape it. It would be able to used for drivers to review and also it would be pretty cool looking. maybe you should ask on the first forumns.

It looks like Ricky (the person who posted the first message) has already posted for clarification.

If they were to allow cameras to broadcast to the driver's station, it would be a major change from previous years.

And yes, putting the answer in the next team update would be very good.

Yes, it looks like they deleted his clarification post without replying, which is the same thing they did to me when I posted a similar question (in a very nonconfrontational manner) about an hour ago. Apparently, the forum moderators get a little testy whenever conflicts in their replies are discovered....

I agree with you, Joe. I doubt FIRST would allow drivers to view a camera feed from their robots during a match, but the fact remains, the forum moderators have failed to make me 100% certain of this. Here's hoping a future Team Update will clarify what the forums have not.

They stole my post lol....yes I did ask for clarification, maybe they'll throw it in a team update, so no more contradictions arise....

And now they're burying the evidence by editing and locking posts:D... http://jive.ilearning.com/thread.jsp...=240&trange=15

Looks like the answer is no....

Oh well

in my twisted lawyer sense (my mom is a lawyer) i can actually see an original NO in all the forum examples....

when they say "non-functional decoration for use by the drivers . . . blah blah blah" that means yes, if you get permission, you can use cameras, but it can't be used during the game to get robot's eye view, it can be used for stratigerizing and documentation

everything i've read seems to point to
1) yes, with on site permission, cameras are allowed, if they don't interfere with other radio signals, and
2) you can't actually use the cameras in game
