Bright Eyes and Desaparecidos. I have only seen a few pictures of him, online, so I can't really tell if he's particularly physically attractive, but you're $@#$@#$@#$@# right about your "dark brooding boy" description of him, just from his lyrical style.

Desaparecidos seems to be a lot more active, and less brooding than Bright Eyes, but it's still great music, so that's a moot point.

I think I'll listen to Read Music, Speak Spanish, right now...

looking the part is part of the whole music thing, but in the end its all about how it sounds, and avril isn't good....
sure, her songs sound good the first time, and okay the second, but after 150 in a week, every week, it just plain annoying

i agree, i kinda feel she is like linkin park... too many people like them...its not a bad thing, sometimes people complain about that. that is what drives me crazy... people have diffrent ways of enjoyment and by chance linkin park and avril appeal to more people. so what? stupid people dont become famous for no reason. even if they are we are pretty stupid too.

:ahh: oh my!!! someone else in this wide world listens to saddle creek bands!!! i am amazed and happy. enh, i find him attractive, but have also been told i have bad taste in guys, but well, at least the next time i'm in the lab and someone on my team says i listen to stupid music i can point out that i'm not alone in liking it. and yeah, desaparecidos are also amazing from what i have heard on the saddle creek page.

You're definetly not alone in liking Bright Eyes. I know that for sure. As for liking "stupid" music, I'm used to hearing that. I listen to many different kinds of music, and not all of them are liked by my friends. Some think Aphex Twin is stupid, some think The Doors are stupid, some think Bright Eyes is stupid. Oh well, people like different things. Heck, right now, I'm listening to some lounge-style Latin Jazz...

I like Linkin Park, Avril Lavigne, and others. I prefer lyrical meanings over the looks. Avril has some good songs, Linkin Park has heavy riffs, and also some good songs.

Lyrical meanings? Do you mean some kind of "meaning" hidden in the song that's really beautiful and poetic?
If you mean the meanings of the lyrics, I couldn't disagree more. I prefer either songs with no words or songs I don't understand. (Korean, Japanese, etc.) That way you can listen to the music as if it is just music.

sometimes i listen to wierd songs because some phrases appeal to me..some songs are just a"wow" liek they siad the words i wanted to say at the moment... meaning coudl range from a deep philosophical thought to "i hate this world" or something of a sort.
