Specs full of errors???

Ok, I was looking at the spec pages for the FP and globe motors. I recall from past years, that these spec sheets have errors (it looks like they used the same file, and never fixed the errors)

First:

Stall torque for the FP motor is listed as:
0.380 N-m (mili-NEWTON meters)

What are they talking about? It must be N-m, not mN-m, because there would be no way you'd get 34.7 N-m with a 124:1 gearbox.

Second:
RPM for globe motor only: 97 RPM. Globe motor & gearbox, 87 RPM. Yet the torque goes from 30 oz-in to 150 in-lbs... something doesn't compute... I'll believe the other data that says that the motor-only gives around 11500 rpm.

Obviously, most people on this board already realize these errors, because a lot of this data is in the white papers (from other sources, not FIRST)

I guess I wanted to gripe, because not only do we get specs (finally) 2 WEEKS into the competition, but they're also so obviously wrong.

Lesson to learn: always apply a "garbage" filter to any data you use, and ask the question "does this number make sense?"

I feel your pain. I'm always looking for new motors to add to our simulator, EDTSim, and am constantly coming across similar inconsistencies and omissions of key information.

I don't know if that's part of what FIRST intends to teach, but that is an excellent lesson to learn.
