I think $1145 is a little to much for it...espically since not that many teams even use it. We use it to test code sometimes though.

Unless you wanna pay a crud-load of money, don't even do it w/ any computer unless you know for sure what each thing does and goes.

Perhaps I was a bit harsh, but I just wanted to make sure that everyone else understands that blindly hooking things up is dangerous. I figured you knew it was an RS232 port but it's important to make that distinction for everyone else's benefit.
