Ok, what's the BEST pickup line you've ever heard/used? I ain't got one, but I got a lot in thought...

purpledaisy 23-01-2003 21:14

i think we can safely say that all pick-up lines are being talked about here http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...&threadid=3511

Brandon Martus 24-01-2003 14:50

Raven_Writer 24-01-2003 14:52

If you were referring to me...sorry about that, and I'll never do it again.

I'm fairly certain he wasn't.

I knew my post would be censored, but didn't think it'd be removed.

I quoted on your post though, so hey...back on topic:

"Your an angel from the heavens"

AdamT 24-01-2003 21:17

"You're pretty, why don't you love me?"

this line works/worked, not for me though...

It happens to be the truth...just take the chance and flat out say it. "I like you" or as some have done "I love you" One that I know works is "I like you a lot, especially what I've seen of you so far, but I want to get to know you better."

seen of you refers to character, morals, conduct, etc...

Not to sound dumb, but what does bindrune mean?

MRL180YTL2002> True, but I'm shy, and can't face the embarrasment of it.

exser 24-01-2003 22:08

bindrunes are nordic pagan symbols that mean different things depending on what parts you use and what order and such...

but...it isn't that hard to say that if you are already good friends with the person

MRL180YTL2002 24-01-2003 22:26

I told my best girlfriend that after I knew her for a month. Pamela (she's on 179) and I have been friends since 2001 KSC Regionals but we aren't dating. The important thing is that she knows know I feel and letting the other person know is important. Since it was a month after, I knew her well enough to admit it...nervous as heck but managed to get it across.

What would be the sign for "I like you"

It's hard no matter what

Um...its hard to explain since it actually is a combination of 4 bindrunes put together in a certain order....I should draw and insert it here soon if you really want to know

Raven_Writer 25-01-2003 07:46

yes, please do that

How true, how true that is.....I told my best friend after I knew her for a month. Pamela (she's on 179) and I have been friends since 2001 KSC Regionals but we aren't dating. The important thing is that she knows know I feel and letting the other person know is important. Since it was a month after, I knew her well enough to admit it...nervous as heck but managed to get it across. It took me a while to figure out what to say, I forgot what as I was nervous, so it basically went....

Me: "Pamela, there's something I got to tell you." (hesitates)
Pamela: "What is it Mike?"
Me: (I pause and hesitate) "Somewhere in the middle of all this, I fell in love with you Pam"
Pamela: "Awwe." (and a little stunned)

Anyway since then Pamela and I have been very good friends. The downside is she's on 179 and I'm on 180. We live about 45 minutes away from one another but have different schedules as we are on different teams and go to different schools but are in the same tough program...the world of IB.

Uh...your kidding right? You were posting in the other pick-up line "what's the WORST pickup-line" thread....anyways, it's something you say so that you can get a girl or guy to go out with you.

MRL180YTL2002 25-01-2003 21:28

In my case I picked up a very good friend of mine. Hey I've taken her out to the movies once and South Fork's homecoming.

that's the worst thing about posting in the internet.. there should be some way of indicating sarcasm- I just started a forum about this

also- I never posted on the other thread- you must be confusing my name with one of my team members

Sarcasm 101: To tell people you are being sarcastic, type [sarcastic] at the beginning of the text, and [/sarcastic] at the end of the text.

Maybe...doesn't matter really anyways...(I hope this doesn't become a off-topic thing)

Which guy doesn't? In my case, the degree differs. Like with Pamela, I'm definately more nervous than with other girls.

I'm more nervous around girls I don't know, than ones I do know.

purpledaisy 26-01-2003 23:32

i still say the best pick up line i've ever heard was "so how do you say your name?". at least... it worked for him - we've been dating for almost 7 months now:eek:

and guys, most of us don't bite... really. unless she's really rude, she won't destroy you when you say you like her. i know that when mark told me, i was so shocked i couldn't move for almost 5 full minutes. not because i didn't like him, but because i was surprised. realize that for us sometimes it comes out of the blue, our knee jerk reaction may not be our actual one, so don't give up too soon.

lol...#1 fear for us boys is that little knee-jerk to a 45 degree - 90 degree angle.

[EDIT]: I remembered one I was gonna use a long time ago on some girl..here it is (drum roll):
Ich mag Sei (enter name here if you want)

It means "I like you [name optional]" (it's in German). This was found at http://babel.altavista.com

Well.....I must admit if my best friend did the knee jerk reaction I did not notice and I would not care because my goal was simply to tell her that not only did I like her but also that I loved her for who she is. I admit during this exchange I when told my best friend Pamela (she's on 179) and I have been friends since 2001 KSC Regionals....

Me: "Pamela, there's something I got to tell you." (hesitates)
Pamela: "What is it Mike?"
Me: (I pause and hesitate) "Somewhere in the middle of all this, I fell in love with you Pam"
Pamela: "Awwe." (and a little stunned)

....I was looking at her straight into her eyes during practically the entire course of the conversation except during my first hesitation because I forgot exactly what I wanted to say.
Even though there are time where we barely talk because we're busy, we both lnow that the other still cares just our lives are crazy as it is. Somehow we've managed to keep a healthy friendship alive. I've never given up hope but when you don't hear from someone it really eats you up on the inside. We could never get angry/mad at one another so we know that not the reason. most ikely its our schedule (which makes it difficult to see one another).

Raven_Writer 27-01-2003 20:58

Unlike a lot of boys in my school...I can look a woman straight in the eyes. I personally think "love" is a strong word used in high school...but it's the person's decision to use it (and good luck w/ Pamela). Good luck w/ your boyfriend pupledaisy.

Thanks.

In a way you're right, love is a strong word. But being nervous (I forgot what I was going to say) and she knew I liked and cared about her (our parents knew but didn't say anything that I'm aware of) already, just not how much.

Unbeknown to most of you, we (Pamela and I) have agreed not to date for now as we are busy with school and all. But who knows what the future brings. The irony of this is she probably will be (or is/has been - I haven't had the opportunity to ask...or consider asking about if she's single) going out with some else at this time of the post and I basically wouldn't want to date anyone with the exception being her. To call Pamela a friend is an understatement. In a way she is an extended part of my family as we've shared some stuff we wouldn't tell somebody who is just a friend and nor would we dare tell anyone in our family. The only way to put it I guess is basically to say Pamela is my best, most trusted confidant and friend.

Being such good friends, don't you think she would tell you if she were dating someone else? It would only make sense for her to do that, because I don't think she's the kind of person that would be dating someone and just happen to "forget" to mention that to you...

Raven_Writer 31-01-2003 07:44

I told the girl I like yesterday that I liked her, and she doesn't feel the same...but we are still friends.

Hey, she does tell me if she was/is. But I also know she is not interested in dating right now. I know that.....all too well!

Yep, the future is definitely wide open. I certainly can't see into a crystal ball and find out. Only time will tell what will happen. The only definite thing in the future is that Pamela and I will be good friends forever.

Raven_Writer 31-01-2003 19:52

The future holds great posbilites for me if someone would not judge me first hand.

That's part of the major problem...what's with you girls and that?

I must have made a really good intial impression to her and later to her parents! Sometimes I think its just luck.

Everyone judges a book by its cover.

Things change in time....for what they are only in what will come will bring the truth. You never know....on the bright side at least she knows how you feel. After this, you yourself know you can do it again, tell her how you feel, ask her out, etc....

Your right, but she only dates people that are serious about God (I am, but I'm just really gonna drop the point for a while, bring it up every now and then). The force was with me, but my fear overcomes any advisary
