Just as a head's up, please remember that you can edit your posts.

We haven't found a supplier for batteries yet, either.

Batteries

We need about two batteries. We are a rookie team so we don't have any batteries from last year.

Looking for batteries

If you need batteries, (Exide Powerfit ES-18-12) then please contact me and I will put you in touch with a local supplier.

wrong battery

The batteries supplied by first are EX, not ES. per this ruling on FIRST forum:

http://jive.ilearning.com/thread.jsp...t=15&trange=15

you must use the EX batteries for competition.

I wonder if 469 will be able to tell us where we can get some EX's.

Gary Dillard 21-02-2003 12:38

Hmmmmmmmmm.... I just noticed that the battery specs put out by FIRST (Exide.pdf) are for the ES, even though the parts list (and the battery itself) says EX. The ruling appears pretty clear, but I wonder.............

Question: Where can we purchase additional Exide batteries for our robot? Can we use batteries from previous years?

Respomse:
The Model 18H Deep Cycle Excide battery was specifically supplied by Exide to FIRST. You may not be able to find an exact off-the-shelf duplicate. You may use a similar 12V battery in the pits and during the Thursday test runs. You may use batteries from previous years for this purpose also. You must use the FIRST supplied Kit battery in the competitions. FIRST will replace defective batteries at the competitions. FIRST will not provide charged batteries to teams that have not maintained their own charged batteries.
