the battle of engineers

I will use up my first 2 choices... Only I combine them into a 8 person tournament :P, with 2 games of 1 vs 1 vs 1 vs 1. Each game will have 2 winners advance into the next round.

1st game
Andy Baker
Chris hibner
Lloyd Burns
Matt Reiland

2nd game
Paul Copioli
Raul
ChrisH
Rbayer

Then the winners from each of the game will get together for a 1 vs 1 vs 1 vs 1 match.

Bill's goin' down!

Sean already challenged me to a sumo match if we're both at a regional with sumo.

(Jason, if you can get it for SVR again, I will be forever grateful, and stuff! :D)

#1 choice: Jason Morella vs. Woodie Flowers! I can see the headlines now: "The Classroom Clash!" "The Blackboard Brawl!" "When Educators Engage!" "Upstart English Teacher vs. Wily Veteran Engineering Professor!"
Sorry Dave, I'm not that dumb. He knows the levels of gravitivity & polarity (obscure movie reference - I'll be impressed if anyone knows it) and would pull out all that physics stuff to beat me. Plus if I got desperate I'd have the urge to pull the pony tail, and that just can't be gracious or professional. ;) If YOU want to substitute in for Woody, I might take that challenge (but then some clever kid would throw a box of Krispy Kreme onto the mat, and it would turn into an ugly Gladiator battle. All fun and games until you're playing for KK)

Sorry Jim, bad economy and fewer sponsors this year, so as of now probably no team social (i.e. sumo) at SJSU this year.
(and no, NOT just so I can avoid facing Bill "Lion Heart" Gold in a sumo suit again)

You guys sound like professional wrestling promoters...

Anyhow, Eddie's first pick: Dubbed the "Brawl For it All" match, Dean Kamen (who is known to cheat by using a segway as his preffered method of propulsion) vs. Woodie Flowers (but watch out, that pin vest makes good armor, and adds illegal weight. I personally know) vs. Dave Lavery (he'll whip out an advanced playing field for a sumo match if we're not careful) vs. Bob Hammond (he quotes rules and catches the opponents on technicallities which only he knows). Who will win?

Nobody knows.

On a side note... WRRF probably wouldn't mind paying for a sumo game at the SVR this year... Just a thought... We do have couple of thousands left over from the Cal Game...

I'm honored to be in such company, but my match would have to wait until at least the Championship. That's the only time Paul, Raul and I will have teams at the same event. That assumes the Beach'Bots actually GO. We're having the same sponsor issues as everybody else. I'm not sure about Rbayer, his team isn't registered yet

It's probably a good thing that we don't have a rematch. Not that I'm afraid or anything... it's just that knowing our luck, we'll both end up being sick when the regional comes around. You've still got me beat in the illness competition Jason (LA 2001) ;)

Todd Derbyshire 27-01-2003 14:15

You want to go one on one with the Great One?

Your on Ricksta

I would definitely like to see this match... However, I want to challenge both of them to a 1 vs 1 vs 1 match before or after it. :P

On the contrary, I wouldn't want to hurt Jim, he never did anything to me :D
