this is sad....

Heh, I found a way to study for my Calc midterm and surf the forums at the same time! My age is the area under the curve of f(x) = -17x^2 + 17, on the interval [ -.5, 22/17]. Decimal answer? Yeah, today isn't my birthday ;) Does this count as studying? And yes, all those 17s have something to do with the answer :)

Carolyn Duncan 13-01-2002 02:06

Happy Belated Birthday to me... I'm now 19.
Michael, don't worry I can think of someone older than you. And he's always here or in Tigerbolt.
;)

OtakuRob 13-01-2002 03:17

Whoo Hoo

I'm second in charge @ 22yrs old. That means nothing can be blamed on me!

But seriously if you ask my other team members, their is some debate on my true age........... JUst because I was the "adult" of the party in FLA and because of a little incident with THE monorail.

Age is relative, I AM 22 going but I AM also going on my second childhood!! LOL

Anton Abaya 15-01-2002 14:14

Wow look at all the babies in FIRST...

<-----20

notna-

Kris Verdeyen 16-01-2002 11:31

I missed a FIRST childhood...

...so I'm making up for it as an engineer...

I'm 23. My age is the area under the curve f(x) = 1 over the interval [0,23 5/12].

I'll bet that y'all can do that one in your head.

Kit Gerhart 16-01-2002 21:01

From "The Sound of Music"
Music by Richard Rogers
Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II

Rolf:
You are sixteen going on seventeen
Baby, it's time to think
Better beware...be canny and careful
Baby, you're on the brink
You are sixteen going on seventeen
Fellows will fall in line
Eager young lads and rogues and cads
Offer you food and wine
Totally unprepared are you to face a world of men
Timid and shy and scared are you
Of things beyond your ken
You'll need someone older and wiser
Telling you what to do,
I am seventeen going on eighteen
I'll take care of you!

Liesel:
I am sixteen going seventeen
I know that I'm naive
Fellows I meet may tell me I'm sweet
And willingly I believe
I am sixteen going on seventeen
Innocent as a rose
Bachelor dandies, drinkers of brandies
What do I know of those?
Totally unprepared am I to face a world of men
Timid and shy and scared am I
Of things beyond my ken
I need someone older and wiser
Telling me what to do,
You are seventeen going on eighteen
I'll depend on you!

Ashes 20-01-2002 16:53

Thanks! Kit Gerhart...now I can sing the song! teehehe
