8 wheels?
it looks to me that someone is running 8 drive wheels from the way that the gearboxes are sitting and the cut outs in the frame.......

The drivetrain this season is nice. But, by no means is it going to be showpiece of this robot. |
Nice...
Nice machining...
and I like the battery holder too, do you have a drive shaft running down the middle. :D |

that shouldnt even be an issue. in all reality, students really dont have to build any of the robot. it's about INSPIRATION |

When more parts arrive, they'll put them all together and make the whole thing work. That's the best I can hope for - and all I can ask for - when the team has no tools whatsoever and is utterly incapable of manufacturing anything. Oh. They're proud of it, too. |

once the robot is coming together, i'll be the lead electrical person i believe, running a group of 3 or 4 other students in putting together the elctronics. i'm also one of the two main programmers, and i've been working on an autonomous mode program with last year's robot. we're also going to resume work on our dashboard program idea. is that enough of what the students did, or must i post every single thing that we have done? :) |
Too bad for me...
Man, it's too bad you guys are not coming to
the NYC Regional. I would have loved to look under the hood of this (bad boy) robot. I remember last year's design was amazingly robust. (I hope to see more pictures posted) :D |

yeah, M designed it, and throught the entire process, i bugged M about how it works or will i have enough room for my electronics stuff :p. you can say i was part of the design process, based on that, i guess :).

Hey, don;t forget me guys!!! I see that my buds failed to mention that M. did leave us for about a week and i had to lead the students in desiging a whole nother concepet... then he came back and i had to work with him on his design and organize the production processes........ Just because a teram has CnC milling capabilities does NOT mean that it was given to them, We had to work our robust butts off to obtain sponsorship and funding for a machine like that.
This year i learned there is NO ground ball in FIRST, CnC or not, there will always be that one hole or one dimension that doesn't line up. The truly successful team is one that can feild asses and effectively deal with problems, producing the ideal solution. |
