Disabling drill transmission clutch

How have you done it? We have considered brazing the two clutch contact rings together, but they look like they are made of sintered metal, and would probably pretzel under heat.

Replacing the spring with a metal tube and/or forcing the two spring loaded metal tabs into the down position will lock up the clutch.

Thanks. We figured out last night that the clutch is locked when the the outer sleeve is turned all the way to the "drill bit" symbol. Duhhh.
