problems with our programmer
what would your team do if your one and only programmer decided to go act in a play or play in an orchestra rather than do FIRST?
|
Well, from Alpha Omega 470 I'd say get to learning programming
|
I can help someone learn if need be...
otherwise all I can say is read the manuals and practice practice practice... *jeremy |
if i were gone (i am the head programmer) i'd lag you guys.
|
Worst case scenario, you could just use the default code. And if there were any changes that had to be made, you could try to find a mentor or someone to help you make those neccasary changes.
|
Make a plea to the student body for " a god-like uber leet programmer" and your sure to get someone like me :)
Which will leave you right where you started, but at least you'll have tried something.... :) |
That's why it's a good idea to have more than one programmer who can back each other up if one decides to join orchestra or something.
|
I say go disban you orchestra until he writes your code.
Other wise cut him a deal like write our code and we will help you with something or if that fails I could help with your code. PM if you want. |
paul is a nice guy
hey paulix its all in good humor. dont hate us, we just dont like you. that is no reason to hate us.!!! :p
all humor aside.. paul is a great programmer and we all love him!! thank you paul |
Our team would be destroyed.
|
If you plan on implementing a crazy, complicated code, you would want re reconsider. PBASIC is very, very easy to learn and there is tons of info online. Many teams even post their code and tutorials. You will be ok.

You can always contact me :D I'm always willing to help out other teams with coding.....as well as my own occasionally lol. On my team, we started out years ago with only a single coach who knew how to program. Then I joined the team. Freshman year, all I did was look over said coaches shoulder once or twice, but starting sophomore year, I did more and more of the programming. This year and last year, it was mostly mine (there are two other student programmers, both of whom were indespensible). But the thing is this: I'm good at coming up with wack ways of making things work (i.e. magic code), another of our 3 is very good at complex mathematical stuff, and the third is a jack of all trades. If one of us disappeared, we'd be shaken up, if two went, we'd be hurting, and if we all went, the team would be sunk :P But the're are plenty of people who could learn to write programs... it's very easy. Just takes a little bit of time... I bet less than 3 hours.
