is your team behind?
I was wondering if any other team is very far behind. :(
|
YES!!! (that's bad)
|
Y.. NO!
|
behind bah
Wow we are so ahead but then we hint a stone and tripped and recoverd. Everyone is either behind or ahead for light years. You learn to manage your time on certain things and then you will not behind. Team 303 is well ahead and moving at a fast pase. It all depends if your teams works fast or slow to. Making a schdule will help and figure what needs to get done. Just suggesting latter and out. GO team303""""
|
We"re very much behind, but hopefully we"ll start having 10hr meetings and catch up soon. We also have one very small member who is one of the best workers on the team, so we're hoping to ship him with the robot, so it's done by the time we take it out of the crate at regionals.
|
We are a week behind. I'm not worried, we have had huge problems getting teacher supervision until now. We are moving in high gear. It always works out.
|
let's say we test drove the prototype of the drivesystem...yet to produce designs for the arms... is that behind?
|
This trick is to be so far behind that you cycle around to the front again, and then you are ahead.
|
i think that we are actually a day or two ahead of where we were this time last year. we're doing pretty well right now
|
Most of our teams are nearly done with the building, but we realized that we had to make a big change of plans...so i guess you can say we're a bit behind, but not that much.
|
Team 930 has:
A chassie All special functions attached Planning on having all controls mounted and moving by the end of the day on monday (in about 11 team working hours we are planning on having a moveable parts) We are allowing us a lot of time for Automonous programming and testing. We have a basic automonous program done but will need fine tuneing. About this time last year we were just finishing design :-) |
I don't know if I'm going to get the CHAINSAW (:ahh: ) for this, but, yes Team 384 is behind (but we like to be safe.) We have a frame. I'll leave it at that or I KNOW I'll get the Chainsaw. (NOooooo!!! Don't hurt me!!)
|
You are never behind unless its time to ship the robot and all you have is scattered parts.
:D |
Um we finished the arm for our first bot and robot two is fully functioning. They should be both be running by Saturday. If not then we are behind schedule.

We pop the crate at regionals and find a pretty finished robot, and an engineer who needs a shave... |
HA.. haha... hahaha... <sarcasm> We're not behind at all! </sarcasm>
Theres this nice big peice of paper with our goals for each week. well... according to that peice of paper we are in weeeek... 2? ish? Not really sure. Looks like late nights coming my way! |
behind? of course not. I am not behind. Our programming and electronics sections of our robot are right on schedule. now as far as getting the drive train running......welll........uhm......they've told me it will be finished the next time that we go down to work on it downtown (at a local university)......although I have heard that about 10 times now.......
|
We're not behind, the rest of the world is ahead! Yeah. Thats it.
Not only are we two weeks behind schedule on the robot, but I am personally 112 hours behind on sleep. |
Oh boy... It's going to be those late nights again. Hrm... we have a member who works at a Starbucks and she's been worrying about not showing up to meeings and flaking due to work. Maybe she can make up for it :D
Let's just say that we're moving along at a fairly consistant pace. Now what pace that is, I'm not saying :p |
ahhhh
We are REALLY behind!!! We do not even have a moving frame yet!!!! All we have is the frame done...... We tend to do nothing till about the last to weeks or so. We will really get everything thing done the last week and the day before we ship! :ahh:
|
The robot is very much on schedule but our animation is lagging behind quite a bit.

Not at all. In fact we are way ahead of schedule.

We're ahead, but our robot is simple
I am now working with a new team, 1062 in Celebration, Florida, and the "bolt-together" drive train has been a very good thing for us. Since we are a first year team, we have no previous years' robots to drive, so we just assembled a very simple machine so our potential drivers could start practicing.
If you build simple, you can avoid being "behind," but you are compromising your capabilities. The bolt-together drive train works, but it will put as at a major disadvantage compared to what my old team, TechnoKats, and others will come up with. Next year, Team 1062 will have something more exotic, but we may well be behind where we'd like to be three weeks after kickoff. |
Our design is entirely complete. We're just waiting on parts to come in from points all around the globe. :)
Right now, we have about 16% of our robot parts in. More today. And tomorrow. And the next day. Hopefully we'll get this thing moving in the next 7 days. |
It's all relative....
Hey, if the robot is ready to roll by the LAST practice session, then you're right on time.
REMINDER - 9TH UPDATE...... NO SWAPPING PRACTICE SESSIONS WITH OTHER TEAMS!!!!!!!:ahh: |
Behind?
Well, drivetrain wise we are about finished, actually we had it driving last week. It's a temporary setup, as soon as the rest of the pieces come in it will take an hour to complete (being pesimistic even!). Our arms are a bit behind in the actual building, but we could possibly finished them by tomorrow night if we tried really really hard. . . . . All in all we should have a complete robot in 4 days, ready to ship. So I'd say we are ahead. w00t!
|
BEHIND!!!!!
Wtdya mean behind, i just finished making the goal from last year!!!!

We have a rolling chassis. All design was done a while ago. All parts are in (except for some MMH stuff) Machining for one of our specialty systems is done. Machining for the drivetrain is nearly done. Machining for the other specialty subsystem was started yesterday. We hope to mount some motors and drive tomorrow. The first specialty subsystem will be mounted tomorrow. We are about a week ahead of last year but we figure we should have a week left for testing and programming this year so all in all I'd say we're 2 days behind maybe.
|
I think behind is an understatement for us.... yeah... we currently have nothing... and will not be meeting again until Monday at the earliest, and we only met two nights this past week..... perhaps by next Wed. we will agree on a concept. If all goes well, we will have a moving base by the 18th. :(
|
Benind is an understatement lolz...but only because we just got our materials this past monday..:( but were moving along good now because we had time to basicly maked step by step directions on how to build it in all our down time.

if a team doesnt get.....
if a team doesnt get done building their robot before the ship date what will happen? will they just have to miss the first compatition or what?
|
as far as I know they don't get to compete at all
|
if you don't finish before ship then just ship it and then hope you can finish on the thursday (practice day) at your first regionals and just miss your practice matchs.

If you are not done, you can work on it thursday, friday, and saturday. Last year our robot was totally non functioning when we went to SVR. It took us all of thursday and friday to make it run sporadically. You arent alone, probably a full third or fourth of all teams will not have fully functioning robots at regionals. Cory |

robot built almost done w/ everything but of course our head programmer is sick with strep. he can barely move when he is normal, the sickness has him bedridden. we need him to get better. stupid cold weather.

we made club history yesterday by actually full-scale testing the bot BEFORE the competition!!!
|
Yeah... team 1104 (rookie team) isn't doing too bad with most things... we've had our robot built... just adding the finishing touches.... of course, we have very few members, and the membership is VERY lopsided.
For example: we have 3 people constructing the robot.. they've done good so far. one of those people, along with me, are doing the electrical wiring and everything else that goes with building it.... that's going good too. we have like, 9 freshmen girls doing public relations and reservations... all that good stuff. too bad they've done squat... i've done all media, writing, and public relations so far. we have NOBODY in our ENTIRE SCHOOL that know how to run a computer besides me (that's why i'm doing a lot of the wiring). THEREFORE, i am the ONLY person doing all of the programming. i am also the ONLY person doing the website (check it out, http://technoeagles.tripod.com/) and handling the message board. I'm also the only one going around getting funding from businesses. I'm also the only one going around and buying and designing our t-shrits. i'm also the only one calling the radio/newspaper/tv stations and getting us media coverage, along with writing newspaper articles. I'm also about the only one that knows almost all of the rules and any of the team updates. on top of all that... i'm helping everyone else with their stuff. I'm trying to organize a committee of about 4 members to just lay there and try to catch up on all of the sleep that i've been missing. That said, and given the fact that we're totally clueless, i think we're doing pretty good. we have a very small, very heavy robot that can grab and stack.... those going to St. Louis, look us up. ~Mythikal/Matt Torrey Team 1104, TechnoEagles |
ya, same on our team. but it's cool, you get to have all the fun right?
btw nice site. good luck at the competition. |
