Well, after a screw up involving a mentor thinking sprocket ratios were additive and some sprockets being thrown away (should we name ourselves 'Dumpster Divers'?) we are almost finished. Really, all we need to do is add chain and bolt the arms one, weld the wheels to the shafts (how else are they going to stay on when we skid turn? they don't even have set screws. It would suck to lose a wheel during a match.) we should be moving. I'm looking forward to cruising down the freshmen hallway with over 400 lbs of shove.
Well, even if it doesn't move (which it will goddam it, we already have 2 of the 4 motors all hooked up!) it looks good, I mean, 80/20 is downright awesome. |
Rookies Irvine and Santa Monica have been to our facilty and our moving. We're still not moving *sigh* will be tomorrow.
Clark Magnet was at our facility today, Beach Bots and South High's been over. Lots of fun and great people. Clark Magnet is organizing about 7 or 8 teams to our facility Fri night at 6p. Should be a hoot! |
Re: How are all the rookie teams doing this year?
Hi im from rookie team 2876 and our Robot got shipped yesterday..Frankly i never thought we could make it this far. We have a completely working robot that drives around and picks up balls then targets and shoots trailers from up to 9ft away.

I think we count as rookie. We have one, maybe two people who have gone before. The rest of us are all freshies. Our robot can move, launch, target object, and it looks pretty stylin', I must say. The only prob is that our freshie programmer keeps failing
