Girlfriends

The only problem I have with girlfriends is not being able to get one. (17 years girlfriend-free and counting!) Bah. I'm a girl repellant! Woo.

My ex-girlfriend broke up with me twice. It was odd both times because our relationship is far from normal. I don't know what a real break-up is like.

oy vey..

Why do guys complain about not being able to get a date?

Most guys are able to get girlfriends, and chances are, you have some girl's attention.. But until you drop the superficial crap about how a girl is supposed to look, it might never happen..

oh vey.. guys.. can't live with em.. sure as heck can't live without em..

My tip is don't date.
Besides, look at the odds. Lets say there are 200 people in your general age bracket. 40 you know well. 20 you know well and are of the opposite sex. Each of those people will know well at least 20 who are of your sex. Assuming each person would be willing to date two people ( not at once, you know what I mean) and assuming a fifty percent shared friends amount, there is a 1 in 10 chance of a person being willing to go out with you. Add in being willing to go out with them, there is a 1 in a 100 chance of liking someone who likes you.

Looking at this I think I might ask the robot to our next dance.
I quote myself. I am a logical person. I'm working on not being so emotional.

no no, torn_paperdoll, you've got it wrong - it's can't live with them, can't kill them legally ;) (quote from my older sister in her boyfriendless high school days)
i love you mark :D

btw, she is right, most guys do have some girl's attention - you probably just don't know it

This struck a nerve within me - you're saying most guys are able to get girlfriends, but if they don't then it's basically resulting from "superficial crap about how a girl is supposed to look". I didn't have a gf until 9th grade, and I have no views like that. I consider myself nice most of the time, I treat most girls with respect, pending on how I am treated by them. I think that's kind of weak saying how guys are only out for looks, because (at least in my case), that's not true. I know many, many nice guys that aren't necessarily "good looking", and for that reason they don't have a girlfriend. Maybe it's the girls that need to "drop the superficial crap".

My 2 Cents.

Harrison 03-02-2003 22:31

I think the superficial crap is, well, superficial. At the end of the day it really means nothing. It isn't who the person really is. Some guys are fake, goodness knows some girls are fake too.

As for breaking up, it is never easy to lose someone that you care about. And, I'm sure you have no real interest in hearing this now, but, as time goes on you will start to feel better.

My last serious relationship ended pretty much 2 years ago, I still think about the girl from time to time, but I don't really "feel" anything anymore. I enjoyed the good times while I had them.

(BTW, I have had 1 "real" gf, and that only happened cause she asked me out.......why can't more girls do that???)

*is lonely these cold winter nights*

Haha. My sister stole my sunglasses. I was installing her speakers and looked over and there was a pair of cheap-o blue glasses that looked exactly like the ones I bought... *yoink* :D

But yeah...isn't being alone rather lonely? (It sucks to know that all girls you have an interest in don't feel the same way...rather depressing) *sigh*

Bah, breaking up at our age is basically nothing. Unless you're sure (and you arent sure if they break up with you) that you're gonna get married or something, you shouldn't worry about it. Too much pressure is put on relationships, just remember its all about having fun (and no, not that way for all you dirty mind people).

Dave_222 04-02-2003 20:55

Before my 2 cents turns into 200 dollars I am only going to say this most girls are just as superficial as most boys if not more and that dateing in high school is only a status thing.

done.

16 1/2 for me. :)

MRL180YTL2002 04-02-2003 21:55

little over 17 for me despite what people say. They say I have a girlfriend but I really don't.

Read my last post on this page. See here

so I guess I do....hmmm interesting dilemma. My point is whose says you have to have to be dating to take a friend out to the movies, a dance, or whatever.
