Dump valve and pressure gage's
Last year we were required to have a dump valve and a pressure gage on the receivers but I can't find any of those requirements in this years rules. Does any one know if this is required this year and if so where it is stated
|
The relief valve you are referring to should be already attached to the compressor. It limits the output of the compressor to ~120PSI.
The regulator is required. Check the Pneumatics Manual and the last page of the Robot Manual for the checklist. The checklist states this, along with the pneumatics manual. These are the only 2 things that are required for pneumatics. Everything else is optional, but you cannot use anything else other than what comes with the kit (other than the 3 cylinders in the order form). |
Dump Valve and Pressure gage
I am not refering to the relief valve on the compressor. I am refering to the bronze valve that last year we were required to have directly off the receiver to vent the system to atmosphere.
If you are storing vacumn in the receiver wont that screw up your regulator??? |

Oh... that's called the Plug Valve... It's the 3-way bronze one with the black knob, right? It was never required to be in the line. It's more of a "convenience" thing. It's good for letting the air out easily. I highly recommend you put it on if you are pressurizing your pneumatics. More of a safety issue.... If you're planning on using the cylinder to generate a vaccum... then you don't need the regulator or the plug valve (because it'll never be hooked up to the compressed air loop)... the regulator is to limit the pressure to 60PSI. |
