Wiring Fisher Price Motors
A search of this site did not uncover any warnings regarding the soldering of wires to the Fisher Price motor lugs. There are many warnings about doing this for the drill motors. Anyone have any trouble connecting the #10 wire to the Fisher Pice motors?

Sounds like what we did.
The tabs on the FP motors have some form of protectant on them so we scrape that off first. Then solder a flag terminal (i.e. a right hand terminal) on the end of the #10 wire, then solder the terminal to the motor terminal. Once that has cooled we use ty-wrap to attach the wires firmly to the outside of the motor or to the motor mounting bracket (whichever affords the best stability) and finally insulate the exposed terminal with heatshrink. |
