Flash and IE

Does anyone know why Flash stuff will not load in my IE? I have WinXP Home w/ all the updates installed, using IE 6, Flash MX (6) stuff is what I'm trying to view. Everytime I try to view Flash, weither it be www.kirupa.com, or my own work at http://www.robocards.org/flash/test1.htm, it has that red X thing on it. I know atleast Kirupa's site would load if Flash worked. Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

I'm sure you have the plugin, but I'd suggest you go to Macromedia and install it again; there's a good chance it might work. The other thing I would suggest is to have a look through your Internet Options (especially under the Advanced/Multimedia tab), and see if there are any weird settings.

The Flash from both those URIs work for me in IE.

The only problem w/ going to get the plugin is that I can't navigate the macromedia site because it's done in Flash. This was also my first idea of doing. But I'll check the Options.

Maybe everyone should just use mozilla.

I installed MoZilla, and reinstalled Flash using it, now it works. Thanks everyone.

Great choice (my bias is showing)! What are you using, 1.2? Now that you've seen the light, I suggest you go to PluginDoc for all your Mozilla/Netscape plugin needs. There are a lot of cool things for end-users available at Mozdev. Give me a shout if you want to know about cool Mozilla stuff (I happen to work on it sometimes).

Thanks for the link. What do you need to make a plug-in?

To make one? I don't know how to make one of any real magnitude or purpose. Of course, it's likely completely documented at mozilla.org.

http://www.mozdev.org/categories/programming.html has all of the stuff I'm guessing. Thanks though.
