Slip connectors (custom electrical connectors)
Are we allowed to fabricate our own slip connectors to transfer electricity to drive motors instead of buying them($100+ each). They are, in essence, copper rings placed around a shaft to remain in constant rotating connection with the wiring(to avoid tangling wires)

I don't see why that would be a problem, as long as you can make them. After all, that's what we're here for, making stuff! It seems to be like an example that FIRST provided: A team could make their own custom gears from a piece of steel, and only list the price of raw materials, instead of paying a large amount to have custom gears machined for them.
