Our 2002 bot Fluffy was orginally geared for 14fps:p :D ...we couldn't control it with the existing first controls. Went wild...had to regear it for 12fps :(.

It comes to like I said in another thread...how you play the game, for qualifying or for finals!

Dunno if you saw the replies, but we don't flip over the wall now, that was our original design which my math didn't quite work out. All the estimates we're predicated on them. The original image of the flip was testing, not actual. The deployment is now different but still very functional and consistent. Sorry but my team does not want me to divulge the process of deployment at this point. But it's probably not hard to figure out if you look at at our current picture

I still like the idea of the robot splitting in half like that to cover the whole ramp

twas a great concept, and now it looks like you will just fold out and drive up the ramp straight

I hope during ur new deployment, ur bot doesn't prey to human player boxes becoming lodged under u. This strategy very similar to the Beatty Bomb strategy of last year where a human player tried to launch a ball under the Beast. It was unsuccessful and rather dangerous as one of Beatty's coaches (Brian Beatty I think) had the wind knocked out of him by a high-speed soccer ball. However, human players this year could place a box right in ur deployment area, which is easier than throwing it there.

what, did the soccer ball go right through the plexiglass?

oh, and about the interference by the bins, you're right. at the UTC scrimmage some teams discovered that lining all the bins up in a row in front of a robot would be pushed back into the wall and jam when the robot tried to move during autonomous mode. Quite annoying.

Not a bad design but wouldn't it be easy to just push you right down the ramp and you fall on your side?

You do recall that bins must be in the scoring zone, which doesn't include the neutral zone.

It was in the Finals or Semis but the ball went over alliance station. Brain Beatty (a coach) was standing a few feet behind the wall.

I don't see how throwing a ball over 2 8' walls spaced 48' apart could have the trajectory required to injure someone standing 56' from the throwing spot..

I dont remember exactly the tragectory of the ball but it happened at nats on Einstien during the championship Semis (Kingsmen vs. Beatty) last year. I am sure thousands of others saw it and Beatty alluded to it in a post after nats.
